Beauty Wishlist | August

Thursday, August 28, 2014

So maybe starting off a wishlist with Tom Ford is pushing it a bit, but look how beautiful it is! I love all the shades in this quad, especially the top right shade, a beautiful bronze colour! If I had the money, i'd have ordered this already. It's currently available online for around £50.

Next up is a gorgeous YSL lipstick, i'm really going for it on the high end this month aren't I? Well, a girl can dream. Whenever I see other bloggers talking about YSL lipsticks, the one thing they always seem to have in common is the quality, I guess that's what you're paying for! Apparently they're highly pigmented, creamy and easy to apply and super long lasting. This first shade from their Rouge Pur Couture range is just beautiful. I might have to buy this as an early birthday present to myself. It's available to order online for around £22.

Another product that I see plastered all over the internet as a holy grail, and that's the Bumble & Bumble surf styling spray. Designed to "recreate tousled beach hair" and "create a sexy windswept texture". I'm dying to get my hands on this product. I recently tried one of L'Oreal Paris' salt sprays and really didn't get on with it, but I've read countless reviews on this Bumble & Bumble product. It's available from Selfridges for £21.50(125ml)

Everyone's got a Nars Blush right? I've been putting Nars blush's in wishlists for the past year or so and i've still not managed to get my paws on one! Now that i've come across this one, I don't think i've got any choice other than to order it right now! I chose the shade Amour because it's a lovely matte, strong, pink shade which I think makes it pretty versatile in the sense that I think it'd suit most skin tones. Apparently it is super pigmented so i'd probably have to apply this rather lightly to avoid looking like Barbie, but it's still a beautiful shade. You too can grab this blush now for £22.50.

I've been on the hunt for a liquid or gel eyeliner for the past couple of weeks because my beloved Astor Eye Studio liquid liner has dried out completely. I've been leaning more towards gel liners in my search for perfection as i've never really owned one and I thought, well there needs to be a first time for everything right? This Illamasqua gel liner is another holy grail stamped product i've been reading about on other blogs for a good couple of months now. Illamasqua say "Precision gel liner recreates the fluidity of a liquid liner with the ease of a gel." Hearing "liner" and "ease" in the same sentence is very comforting, isn't it? You can grab this little pot of wonders from Selfridges for £18.50(5ml)

I'm sure everyone's seen the advert for this mascara? The one where the model has a Deadmau5 esk mask/giant head on and they say manga about thirty seven times? I actually thought the advert was pretty awesome to be honest and swore to myself that I'd buy the mascara, yet here I am adding it to a wishlist, oops? I've heard that it's a pretty fab mascara for volume and i'm always looking for more volume, my eyelashes are pretty pathetic to be fair. This mascara is available in Boots for £8.99.

I can hold my hands up high and say that i've never owned ANY Topshop make up, this has to change! They have such a wide variety of shades, not only in lip colours but in things like nail varnish too! I've written about their products a million and one times, so I think a little spree is in order. This particular lip crayon is in the shade "Secret Party," c'mon, even the name is awesome! Secondly, it's a beautifully blue under toned, bold, matte colour, #winning. The link above is to the John Lewis website, but I suppose you could grab this in store at Topshop too!

Last but not least we have this simple yet really lovely make up bag! I recently received(thank you Nolan!) a beautiful Zoeva make up brush set and it came with a lovely make up bag BUT it's so beautiful that I don't want to use it! How sad am I? When I saw this I knew it'd be perfect for my brushes! Modcloth always have such lovely and sweet pieces. This is available now for around £15!

That was pretty hefty wasn't it! What are you lusting over this month in the world of beauty? Let me know below! Have you made any payday purchases?

Blazer - Dorothy Perkins(similar) | Top - Dorothy Perkins(similar) | Shorts - Morgan | Headband - Topshop | Shoes - old | Bag- Dorothy Perkins

Sorry that there aren't any exact links to any of these items! I grabbed this top and blazer in the sale at Dotty P's a couple of weeks ago and they're not up on the website anymore, sorry! The blazer is pretty big on me but I fell in love with it as soon as I laid eyes on it so I just had to have it. The price tag was even better, I ended up paying just ten squid for this baby, happy doesn't cut it. The top was another bargain at around £6, i've already worn it about five times, in the process of that i've managed to spill curry down it, luckily it came out, close call.

These photos were taken on Sunday evening just before myself, Nolan and his family went out for dinner to celebrate Nolan's 25th birthday(which was actually on Monday). We ate at Laziz in Ocean Village, if you're in Gibraltar or you ever visit, you need to have dinner at least once at this place. It's predominantly an Indian restaurant but they also have a Chinese section and BBQ section! If you're a veggie like myself, they have an entire page filled with delicious vegetarian options! Serious food babies were formed.

As much as I keep talking about how much I can't wait for autumn to kick in, I really love summer colours, namely this blazer. I'm sure i'll find a way to make it work with my autumn/winter wardrobe. Saying that, deep reds and most dark shades are the main colours that make up the majority of my wardrobe, winter ready? I think so.

What bargain pieces are you loving right now? Leave me links to your most recent blog posts, I love having a good ol' nosey! I hope hump day's not getting you down too much!

Top 5 Tips For Combating "Bed Hair"

Tuesday, August 26, 2014
My hair is something that I have a serious love/hate relationship with and mornings are always more on the hate side of the spectrum. When Lindsay from Casper got in touch asking about my top tips for combating bed hair, I was really excited to share my little life hacks and tricks with you all! FYI, Casper are a fab company that make memory foam matresses, so if you're in need of one, you know where to head to! Just click here to view their range! So here are my top 5 tips for combating bed hair when you really don't have loads of time on your hands!
1. Brush your hair before you go to sleep, seriously it takes about two minutes. Brush your hair thoroughly each night, to remove any knots or tangles that might be in there. The longer you leave a knot in your hair, the worst/more matted it'll become, so brush that sucker out before you hit the hay!

2. Tie your hair in plaits whilst you sleep. Not only do you get lovely heat free waves, but it also prevents those pesky tangles from finding their way back into your hair! I can't remember where I read this, but i'm pretty sure it also stops breakages in the hair, as all the hair is falling in the same direction, so double score!
3. Stop washing your hair everyday! Washing your hair too often strips it of it's natural oils that it needs to keep healthy, therefore causing your hair to obtain knots and absorb static more easily, i'e, cause messy/frizzy morning hair! If your hair is extremely greasy and you feel that you need to wash it everyday, start using dry shampoo in between washes, every other day, to not have to wash it so much. Over time you'll find that you don't need to use the dry shampoo anymore and you'll be able to go three or even four days without washing your hair! Healthy hair = more manageable hair!

4. Use a deep conditioner once a week. Deep conditioning has many benefits for your mane, but one of the great things about it is that it helps to eliminate fly away's and make hair smoother, therefore making your hair more manageable and less frizzy/out of control in the mornings.
5. If all else fails, embrace it! That's right, whether you've woken up with a bit of a frizzy mane or it just looks an utter mess, why not just embrace it for the day? Pull it into a loose plait and boom, you're done, or swing your head upside down and create the highest ponytail you possibly can. Oh and a messy bun, possibly the easiest look to create and you're already half way there if your hair's a mess! Sometimes a messy look is the best way to go, so go forth and embrace your bed head!

What did you think of this post? Have any of the tips been useful to you? Or do you have some of your own tips for combating bed hair? Let me know!

Quote of the Week | #43

Monday, August 25, 2014
"It's going to be hard, but hard is not impossible."

If you read this post, you'll know that i'm kind of doing a lot of things at the moment. September is edging in on us so i'm guessing that a lot of you will be going off to University and/or college and it's probably going to be really hard to find the perfect balance between studying, having a social life and keeping your dorm/house in shape, but it's not impossible! Life is hard, period, but it's not impossible. Nothing is impossible. Everything is possible, therefore you can achieve all that you want to achieve because it is possible!

I hope everyone's week's gotten off to a great start!

Polyvore Style Board | #37

Sunday, August 24, 2014

I honestly can not wait for autumn to kick in, mainly because it's too hot to do anything most of the time, but also because autumn/winter fashion is better than chocolate(most of the time).

Last year I rekindled my love for jeans, and denim in general really. I remember back in February/March time I posted many style boards with slouchy jeans and midi heels/court shoes but I think it'll deffo be a look that i'll rock this season. I really think it's a perfect combo for smart/casual, i'm using a lot of forward slashes today aren't I? This pair in particular will set you back about £73 and you can order them right here. Oh and the court shoes? ASOS of course! £25 and they're yours.

I decided to pair these jeans with this beautiful kimono/blazer combo. I found it on the Vero Moda website whilst actually looking for a handbag, i'm easily distracted, oops? A loose fit which I think makes it more of a casual item, but still interesting enough to be able to dress up a pair of jeans. I'm loving blue at the moment, all shades! I recently bought a large baby blue blazer from Dorothy Perkins in the sale and I can't wait to style it for the blog! Right off the track there but anyway, I think this kimono/blazer combo is a perfect autumn/winter piece for this year! It's available for around £30

Last but not least is this amazing clutch(I think it's actually a make up bag but shh) bag from a little etsy store called BreakUpsToMakeUp. They've got loads of really awesome products, I highly suggest checking them out! "Love raised me, lipstick saved me" I think it's a sin if I don't purchase this right? Treat yourself to one too, it's only around £20, score!

Overall, I think this is such a simple yet stylish outfit, at this rate i'll have ordered every single item before the day's up! Are you loving this look as much as I am? Are you excited for autumn/winter? Let me know! I hope everyone's had a fantastic weekend!
