Holy wow, how is it Thursday already? This is a new little segment on the blog, it might be every week, it might not, we shall see! So here's my find of the week! How adorable is this skater dress?!

AX Paris is a brand that i've loved for a while now, they're entire collection is just on point. I know that the majority of my wardrobe is monochrome but why not add to something you love?! You all know that i'm one for a skater dress and this off the shoulder one has such a cheeky vibe to it! Deffo a party number!

So what have you spotted online or on the high street this week? I'd love to see your find's of the week! Have a lovely day!

Pick-Me-Ups For Those "UGH" Days

Wednesday, February 25, 2015

I know i'm not the only one who has "ugh" days. You know, the days where you wake up and just feel like crap, sort of like the world is out to get you? You don't feel poorly or ill, just like rubbish and that everything you're going to do that day is going to be rubbish. Often, that isn't the case and all you need is someone or something to make you smile and you'll be feeling right as rain! But sometimes you just want to be alone, at home and not have to deal with the world for a few hours.

With that being said, I decided to put a little list together of some of the things I do as little pick-me-up's to get me through the "ugh" days!

Take a nap, with your cats, or any other pet you might have. My cats are like my little babies and whenever i'm feeling a bit down, a cuddle with them usually brings my mood up a few notches. They're cute, fluffy, warm and their purring is actually quite therapeutic!

Paint your nails! I love having my nails painted, I feel complete when my nails are freshly painted. Give yourself a french manicure or paint them a really bold colour or even paint each nail a different colour, go crazy! Again, I find painting my nails really therapeutic.

Catch up on your favourite YouTube channels/Blogs: The internet is so saturated with vloggers and bloggers that's it's hard to find the time to keep up to date with everyone on an everyday basis. I spend a lot of time on YouTube but if i'm having a bit of a crappy day there are a few people that really brighten my mood. The channel that i'm loving the most at the moment is Hannah Maggs. Hannah and her husband Stef, and little baby Grayson, make weekly vlogs of their life and honestly, i'm not quite sure what it is about their vlogs that make's them stand out from the rest, but they really do! Check out their channel here.

Read or re-read a good book: Okay so i've chosen the biggest cliche book of the century here but it was the first one I grabbed for this photo. I've always loved reading, I know it's not for everyone but it's something that's always helped me get my head back to where it needs to be. I find it incredibly relaxing to curl up with a good book and a large cup of coffee. Some other's that I'd recommend are Before I Go To Sleep by S.J.Watson, Looking For Alaska by John Green, One Day by Nicholas Sparks, Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern, The Curious Incident of the Dog In The Night Time by Mark Haddon, Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion.

I'm actually thinking about writing up a blog post about my ten favourite books of all time, let me know if you'd like to see that!

Have a bubble bath! I'm a strong believer in "bubbles for your troubles," seriously, how can one feel crappy in a bath full of bubbles and essential oils and pure heavenly goodness? If you've not yet moved over to the bath side then please do! I promise a soak in the tub for a good half an hour will really help to make you feel better and cheer you up! Whilst you're at it, why not try a face masks while you're soaking in the tub!

I hope that if you've read this and you're having a big of an "ugh" day and you decided to do at least one of these, that it makes you feel better! If you're having a great day then that's lovely! Let me know what you think of this kind of post? Have a lovely day

I Got Inked.. Again | Lifestyle

Tuesday, February 24, 2015

I did it! I finally got tattoo number 2! If you know me outside of the internet, you'll know that I spend probably 65% of my time either talking about getting more tattoo's or saving pins to my tattoo inspo board on pintrest

So last week I finally got round to getting this new tattoo done. It's actually something I found on pintrest and really liked the idea of it. Let me explain: Sophrosyne(Greek: σωφροσύνη) is an ancient Greek concept of an ideal of excellence of character and soundness of mind, which when combined in one well-balanced individual leads to other qualities, such as temperance, moderation, prudence, and self-control. In other languages there is no word that is a simple equivalent, but it is sometimes translated into Latin as continentia (continence and moderation) and sobrietas (temperance and sobriety).

I just thought it was a really lovely concept so of course, as one does, I decided to get it inked into my skin forever muahaha!

Please note, I know the third character along is missing a little part but I need to go back for a touch up(my skin is apparently too sensitive so he couldn't go over it a second time) anyway, so i'll get that fixed then.

Asides from that, i'm so pleased with it! I adore the placement of it and of course the word itself now has an extra special place on my body! Pain wise, it was no more or less "painful" than my ankle tattoo. I know that everyone's tolerance for pain is different but for me, my tattoo's felt less painful and more uncomfortable if that makes sense? It just feels like scratching, I promise it's not so bad!

So what do you think? Have you had any new tattoo's done recently? Let me know below!

"Get Shit Done" (source)

Sorry for the curse but this is something I think I need to get tattooed across my forehead. I like to make plans, be it small ones or big ones, I like to sit down on a Sunday and plan things out for the week. But then of course, it gets to about midday on a Monday and i've already screwed up my "schedule."

Basically, I am the Queen of procrastination and i'm not even proud. Sometime's i'm lazy and other times I just don't believe in myself enough to get said task/project done.

At the beginning of the year I wrote a blog post about lots of lovely and exciting things that I was going to be doing this year and so far i'm not doing too well and the main reason is that I just don't believe in myself enough to "get shit done". So i'm trying to change that!

I'm going to try and start this week off on the right foot and really get all the things done that I want to this week, from the little things like having a proper breakfast to filming a video that i've been trying to film for a month now, I will do these things this week!

Does any one else have this problem? I hope this little rant will maybe help you to get your little butt in to gear too! Have a lovely week

Happy Pancake Day | Recipes

Tuesday, February 17, 2015
As i'm writing this, it's Pancake Day Eve and I have some very unfortunate news.

Let's start from the beginning shall we? Last week I realised that Pancake Day was fast approaching, so began brain storming blog/video ideas and seeing as i've recently become Vegan(if you already knew that then you get +10 social media points) I decided i'd experiment and create a bunch of Vegan recipes! But of course, last minute me just set up the camera at 10pm to start filming a Pancake Day video, meerly hours before Pancake Day, began preparing ingredients and then realised I had no flour left, horror set in and now i'm not a happy bunny.

So instead, today's post is going to be some pancake inspiration for you all! I've searched the highs and lows of the internet to bring you the most delicious looking pancakes(and their recipes of course) out there! The majority are vegan recipes but those that aren't can easily be made vegan by substituting milk for soya/almond milk and skipping the eggs and adding a little oil or baking soda and vinegar.

I hope you all have a wonderful day today and hopefully you'll have some flour at home so you can whip yourself up one of these scrumy pancakes! Enjoy!

So now you'e got 5 different recipes to choose from! Let me know how you end up making your this glorious day! I shall be celebrating a belated Pancake Day this weekend, so make sure you're following me on instagram(@maisieejo) so you can see which I decide to make! Happy Pancake Day!

Top 5 Right Now | Topshop Dresses

From Top Left to Right | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

So, if you haven't realised yet, I have a bit of an obsession with Topshop(even though the last few times i've been in my local one, there's been nothing in there, grr), so I decided to make another "Top 5 Right Now" post but with dresses instead of jackets! I promise I didn't pick a blue theme, it just sort of.. happened?

First up is this adorable Vintage Wash Pini Dress that's available online now for £32. It definitely not something I'd have picked out for myself even six months ago, but after seeing all the model photos on the website being paired with a simple white tee and chunky black boots and having a strong nostalgic flash back of 6 year old me, I just got such a spring-y vibe, I knew I had to have it! What do you think of this style?

The only non-blue item in this post today is such a bargain! It's down from £50 to just a tenner, bang! Another slightly questionable piece, this Pleated PU Skater Dress, caught my eye at first because of the triangular cut outs but then I was slightly put off, for about five minutes, due to the pleather skirt, as i've never worn anything like it before, but then it hit me, why not? I had no solid reason to dislike it and for £10, I couldn't not at least think about it, right?

Getting a bit more summery now, what do you think of this adorable Striped Pinny Sundress? They say you should never wear horizontal stripes on your bottom half but seriously when was the last time you saw a dress with vertical stripes on the bottom? I love the nautical feel this little piece has, pair if with a short sleeved, white cardi and a pair of cat eye sunnies and you've got yourself a super cute summer look! You can grab it now for £48.

Another summery one and possibly my favourite of the five, I think this Bleached Washed Babydoll Dress is gonna be a wardrobe staple for many this summer! The first reason being that babydoll fits are so flattering and comfortable and secondly, I think denim is going to make it's biggest come back yet this year, but we shall see my lovelies. It's available right here for £28.

Last but not least is this adorable(do I use this word too much?) Lace Insert Flippy Dress. I don't know what I like more, the lace inserts on the shoulders of the fit. I'm pretty sure if I did buy this i'd live in it, no shame. A great bargain at £26.

So, what dresses are you loving from Topshop at the moment? Which of these is your favourite? Let me know below! OH and don't forget to have a wonderful day

*"don't fear"

I know that the majority of the quotes i've been sharing over the last couple of months have been focused on creating and following your goals/dreams and not letting anything get in your way, but that's because that's what i'm currently trying to do!

Fear stops many different people from doing many different things. For example, not applying for that job you saw in the newspaper because you fear you'll be rejected, or not applying to that great art school you've just spent 3 hours looking into because you fear your parents won't approve. If there's something you want in life, you have to try and do everything in your power to get it(within reason, don't start murdering your superior at work to get a promotion). Don't let fear be the one thing holding you back.

I hope everyone's had a lovely Monday, keep smiling
