Scally's Beauty Clinic Opening

Thursday, April 30, 2015

Long time no blog! I've been so super busy but i'm really trying to make more time for blogging because I absolute love doing it! So here's to the first of many new posts!

On Wednesday, April 15th, straight after work, I headed over to Scally Torres' grand opening of her brand new Beauty Clinic! As you can see in the photos above, as soon as you walk in you feel an instant sense of calm and tranquility.. that and serious decor envy! How beautiful are the vinyl's and bright pink Buddhas?!

Scally's beauty clinic offers a wide range of services ranging from 1:2;1 makeup lessons and manicures to waxing and facials! Unbelievably priced with a shellac manicure a mere £12.50  and pro HD brows at only £15!

For the grand opening, Scally and her team decorated the clinic to perfection, handed out goodie bags and provided all clients with complimentary bubbly and food(all delicious) and she even had a gigantic celebratory cake! Joining Scally at her clinic were the founders of The Little Beauty School from Birmingham, where Scally obtained her official qualifications. I got talking to the founders and they're two very lovely people who are really dedicated to what they do!

Scally Torres is a specialist beauty therapist and professional makeup artist at the mere age of 19! One pint sized gal that packs a lot of talent. Scally's brand new beauty clinic is located on the second floor of The Red House.

Scally is now my eyebrow savior, she has totally transformed my brows and it only took her a mere 25 minutes! I highly recommend Scally for any brow work you're looking for(shaping, tinting etc) For appointments you can contact Scally on +350 54009051

I'd just like to say thank you to Scally and her team for inviting me to this very special event, I had a fantastic time and I wish her all the best on her new business venture!

Have you been to any opening events recently? Tell me all about it below!

Quote of the Week | #55

Tuesday, April 21, 2015
"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today." - James Dean

I'm getting a bit nifty with my quotes now aren't I. I figured it was probably about time I started taking/making my own images for my quote's of the week. I don't want to be breaking any copyright rules now do I..!

I chose this quote for a number of reasons. Firstly, "dream as if you'll live forever," if you remember back in January I wrote a post about following my dreams and step by step i'm actually doing some of them!

I'm working on and planning a number of projects at the moment, one of them being a launch for my jewellery, you can check out the site so far right here. Other's i'm not ready to talk about just yet but don't worry, all in good time! I'm trying not to let little things hold me back from doing things that I want to do and achieving things that I want to achieve.

"live as if you'll die today," because what's to say that you wont die today? Sorry to play the morbid card but it's true. I mean, I don't know what happens when we die(if I did i'd be making a lot more money than I do now) but what if you do have some time reflect back on your life before you "pass on"? All the things you didn't do, all the places you never visited? This brings me to another mini announcement and that is vlogging, weekly vlogging to be precise. I'll be uploading a weekly vlog once a week, every week for the remainder of the year, so make sure that you're subscribed to my YouTube channel so that you don't miss them! Think of it as a little challenge with myself to do something consistently, every single day(taking footage that is) and then share it with the world, because why not? I also think it'll make me more conscious to do more with my time and be more active!

So if there's something out there that you've been wanting to do for a while now, maybe even something that only crossed your mind yesterday, get out there and do it! What's stopping you? I hope you have a wonderful day and that this post has left you somewhat inspired to go out into the world today and show 'um what you've got!

April Clothing & Accessories | Wishlist

Hashtag accidentally pastel. But anyway, all these items are adorable and spring/summer esk aren't they! I can already hear you shouting, "NO, not another skater skirt!" Sorry, i'm not sorry.

First up is this beautiful, retro (I want to say 50's?) inspired, Pastel Garden Dress. I know i'd be totting around town in this dress feeling like Audrey Hepburn, wouldn't you? It's a bit on the pricey side, being $100 which I think is about £70-£75, but it is bloody beautiful! If you're feeling generous, it's my birthday in three days, insert winky face emoji here.

SO maybe a long sleeved top wouldn't be entirely practical in April but it's Wildfox and it's beautiful so I had to include it! For one, it's pink, so of course I love it and secondly I really love the feather graphic. Such a simple piece but so adorable. Again, on the pricey side but what do you expect from Wildfox? If you've got a spare £75 then this could be yours!

Two years ago I was slating peplum tops but about a year ago I started including them in wishlists and style board posts. I've still not made a purchase but this mint, lace peplum top is right up my street! Lace and pastel shades? Winning. I think this top would look gorgeous with some white jeans and a nice pair of strappy sandals. I'm not sure it'd suit my current mane colour but we can always sort that out if the time comes. It's on sale for just £9.00 right now, erm, bargain!

Speaking of bargains, these beaut Cat Eye Sunnies from Miss.Selfridge are just a tenner! If you follow me on twitter(cheeky plug) you'll know that during my recent house move I stepped on my favourite sunglasses and snapped the arm off, hard times.

Next up is this pastel pink shoulder bag! How beautiful is the colour? If I were to order one thing from this wishlist, based on what I think i'd get most use out of, it'd be this bag. Perfect for spring/summer, especially as I wear a lot of white in the summer months, I think anything pastel makes a plain/boring outfit super cute! I love that the hardware is silver and not gold, it makes it ever so dainty! £69 is probably a little too much for a little, essentially clutch sized handbag, but it is adorable!

Of course there's a Topshop piece in today's post. This blue, Floral Skater Skirt is another piece that i'd probably get way too much use out of. It's perfect for day or night time and I reckon you could wear really simple basics with it because it's quite a statement piece. It's available online only, for £32!

Definitely the most glamorous piece in today's post, this Floral, 3D Hardcase Clutch is from Accessorize! Another statement piece and oh my, i'm sure everyone would be asking you where this was from! Some might find it a bit OTT, but I think it's bloody marvelous! £45 and it's yours. I've actually got plans for a DIY tutorial for making something similar so keep your eyes peeled, it won't cost you half as much

Another item that I've blogged about countless times are white, block heeled sandals. And no, I still don't own a pair, sob. This pair in particular are from Public Desire, you should deffo check out their site, they've got an amazing line (not sponsored content I swear I wish it was.)! This particular pair have gold detailing and they're only £24.99!

What girl doesn't want a pair of brand new, gloriously white, Nike Air Force 1's? Sadly, they are partly made with leather so these will be staying put on just wishlists for me. If anyone's got a link to some dupes, hit a girl up! Air Force One's are available from Office for £51.99.

Last but certainly not least is this Floral Pleated Skirt from Romwe. Another really dainty piece that I know i'd get great wear out of. It's sort of a cherry blossom print, so very subtle hints of colour. It's available online for around £13!

So what d'ya think? Are you loving any of these pieces? Or have you created your own wishlist for the things you're lusting over this April? Let me know and leave links below! Have a wonderful day!

10 Things I'd Tell My Younger Self

10 things i'd tell my younger self
So, maybe you're sick of seeing these posts around the blogosphere but I absolutely love them so I thought i'd write my own! I thought now would be a pretty good time for this kind of nostalgic blog post as, if you know me outside of the internet, you may know that next Thursday is my 21st birthday, oh my goodness me, twenty one! I can barely believe it! But let's get down to it shall we!

1. Being "popular" is not a thing in the real world. Being likable and a decent human being, yes, but wishing you were the "it" girl really isn't something to even being to stress over. Seriously, who even decided that there were such things as "popular kids" at school anyway?

2. Your first love will not be your last. Loving someone at any age always has it's confusing points(at least for me anyway). Being heartbroken is a rubbish(read horrendous) feeling, but your first love will not always be your last love. Learning to love again is hard, but it's do-able and totally worth it.

3. Don't line under your eyes with liquid eyeliner in order to look like Hannah-Beth and Audrey Kitching, you won't look like them, you'll just look a mess.

4. Those things above your eyes? They're eyebrows. Unless you're really going to continue contemplating shaving them off, sort them out.

5. Appreciate free time more. Don't sit in all weekend and every day after school lounging on the sofa watching crap tele and spending hours on Myspace joining "trains." Make the most of your free time! In a few years you won't have any spare time, to the point that you'll be replying to emails at 2am on a Wednesday dreaming of the days that you had time to go to the supermarket without rushing through the isles so quickly that you forget the loo roll.

6. Don't smoke that cigarette. DON'T do it.

7. Mum is the most amazing, strong, inspirational and savvy person on the planet, I promise you.

8. Topshop's denim look jeggings are not worth the twenty odd quid and they look horrendous. I promise you, no matter how lush you think you look in them, you don't.

9. Don't cut your hair short, because you "want a change" you'll end up dying it black, looking like a 12 year old emo boy and buying extensions.

10. Believe in yourself. Choosing to not finish your A Levels does not make you a failure and no one will judge you for it. In fact, by the time you're twenty, you'll be doing a Diploma in a subject that you're absolutely in love with!

So there are 10 of the many, many things I could probably do with telling my younger self. What would you like to tell your younger self? Leave a comment below letting me know! I hope you have a wonderful Friday!
