Super Easy Last Minute Halloween Outfit Ideas | Style

Friday, October 30, 2015
So tomorrow is Halloween, fuck yeah! Dressing up for Halloween is one of my favourite things to do, like ever. Some years, I'm really prepared and I 100% know what I'm doing in July, but then other years, it's the 30th of October and I have no bloody idea what I'm going to be able to throw together on such short notice! So, for today's post, I decided to put together three super easy Halloween outfit's that you can put together with items you probably already have in your wardrobe!

So this first outfit I've gone for is the classic witch outfit. Okay, so you kinda need to obtain some form of witches hat to complete this look, but as this post goes lives, it's Friday morning, so you could still pop in to town to buy one! This Witches hat headband is from Topshop, but if you're feeling crafty, you can make one using this tutorial. Alternatively, just wear a big, black floppy hat for more of an AHS Coven look!

The only other things you really need for this look is a black dress, which I'm sure the majority of you reading this have at least one of! I'm really loving this Warehouse one though, currently available at John Lewis. Throw on some black shoes and something to keep you warm and you're good to go! If you're lucky enough to have a cute little bat bag like this Modcloth one, then lucky you!

Basically, in the words of the supreme,

The next Halloween outfit is something that I've rocked up in probably far too many times, but It's probably the easiest Halloween look, ever! Ye old trusty cat! Another thing that I'm pretty sure most of you will have hiding away in a draw somewhere is a pair of cat ears, in fact, if you tell me that you don't own a pair then you're probably lying, sorry not sorry. This pair above are from River Island but I have an almost identical pair that I picked up in Primark last year for about a pound! I know Claire's used to sell cat ears in a pack with a collar and a tail (sounds awfully kinky, actually sorry) so you can always try having a looking in there too if you really don't have a pair!

Again, all you really need are the cat ears and then you can just pop on anything, I chose all black, obviously, and decided to pair it with these adorable little kitty ballerina pumps and kitty clutch! Not scary or spooky enough for you? Grab some fake blood, where you put it is up to you, my prefered location is the classic, dribbled out of the side of your mouth kinda thing, do you get me?

Lastly, is this devil look? I really can't think of a snazzier way to say it, again, actually sorry. Basically, all you need is a pair of devil horns, which seem to be being sold everywhere at the moment, some red clothing, whether that be a dress like this wearall one or a top and jeans, and you're pretty much sorted! The pair of horns above are from Asos and are currently only £4.50!

I paired this look with a black poncho as although it's a Halloween outfit, I didn't think red on red would be the best look. Plus, this poncho looks like it'd keep you super toasty warm! Red heels/stilettos would probably make for a super sexy look too instead of the boots! I'm not 100% sure how the bat bag ties in, bat outa hell.. devil..? Yes? No? Either way, it's an epic bag!

So there are three, super easy to put together, last minute Halloween outfit's! What are you dressing up as for Halloween? Do you have your outfit sorted? Let me know!

P.S. Here's a list of links to all the Halloween posts I've posted from previous years if you're interested!

Vegan Halloween Cupcakes | Bake With Me!

Tuesday, October 27, 2015
I've been doing a lot more in the kitchen lately, well, by that I mean I've made one batch of soup, two loads of cupcakes and pancakes for breakfast once.. but I have been thinking about a lot of new things to attempt to bake/cook. Mostly they're baking ideas, thank you pinterest, but there are so many delicious looking vegan recipe's out there that it get's hard to decided what to attempt first! So with all that in mind, I have decided to add a new tab to Love, Maisie and that's FOOD! Don't worry, I'm not changing the direction of my blog, at all, I'm just adding another little snippet of my life into my little online world! So expect a little recipe every now and then from me!

So seeing as Halloween is only 4 days away, I thought it was only right to share something Halloween related in today's post, so I chose to try my hand at some Halloween cupcakes! I've made vegan/dairy free cupcakes a fair few times now but I think I've finally got the recipe perfect! I can't take full credit for this recipe as it's basically just a slightly varied version of the peta cupcakes, I think my way is better though, just sayin'.

For 12 large cupcakes you will need:
200 grams of sugar
225 grams of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda/baking soda
1/2 a teaspoon of salt
120ml of sunflower oil
240ml of rice milk or any other milk alternative, just remember to make sure it's unsweetened
1 - 2 tablespoons of natural vanilla extract
Vegan chocolate chips as desired, I chose dark chocolate chips and probably around 50-70 grams

Simply measure out all your ingredients, mix all of your dry ingredients together before slowly adding all the wet ingredients and finally, the chocolate chips. I mixed my cupcake mix by hand but you can use a kitchenaid if you have one/if it's easier for you. Using my ingredients list, your batter should be fairly similar looking to normal cupcake batter but slightly more runny!

As I mentioned above, this recipe makes 12 cupcakes, so you'll want to prepare a cupcake/muffin tray with paper cases, ready for you to spoon the mixture in to. I bought mine from Aldi for next to nothing, in a pack of 100 with black, purple, green and orange cases. You'll then want to place the tray in a 180C pre-heated oven for around 18 minutes.

For your vegan butter cream icing you will need:
215 grams of vegan butter (I used Vitalyte Dairy Free, which I know is available in Morrisons)
260 grams of confectioners/icing sugar
1 tablespoon of rice milk
3/4 of a tablespoon of vanilla extract
1/8 of a teaspoon of salt
food colouring as desired

Remember to allow your cupcakes to be completely cool before icing them!

Mix all of your ingredients together, unless you're making two different coloured butter creams, in which case mix everything bar the food colouring and separate your mixture in two. Depending on how much you have mixed/whipped your icing, you may need to pop it in the fridge or freezer for a short period of time, just to allow it to become slightly more firm, which'll make it easier to use/pipe.

To pipe, I placed my mixture's into small food bags and snipped the ends which makes for super easy piping, but if you've got a piping bag and different nozzles then go wild! I chose to make green and orange icing, as they seemed the most apt colours for Halloween! I also bought a small tub of sugar decorations from Aldi, which included little ghosties, bats, skull and cross bones and a variety of different sprinkles, to decorate the icing!
And viola! There are my chocolate chip, vegan, Halloween cupcakes! I think they taste absolutely delicious and everyone else that's tried them hasn't complained either! Let me know if you have a go at these cupcakes, they're super easy to make and you can adjust the colour of the icing/the decorations for whatever time of year really! What are you doing for Halloween? Will you be doing any baking? Let me know!

Hot Right Now | River Island

Friday, October 23, 2015

So a couple of week back I started the "Hot Right Now" series and kicked it off with New Look. For the second installment I've chosen River Island because my god do they have some epic pieces in at the minute! First up, is this check longline shirt. I'm a massive fan of checked shirts and this one looks like it'd be really easy to wear over leggings for a super casual look or pulled in at the waist with a belt and a nice pair of heels for something a bit more dressy. Available online for £28.

Another pretty basic piece, but I can't get enough of stripes! I'm even wearing a long sleeved striped top as I write this blog post, oops? Again, super casual and easy to wear, a perfect wardrobe staple for this time of year for layering looks! Available for £18.

Let's talk hats. When I finally land myself a new job, there are so many things that I want to treat myself to with my first pay cheque and one of those things is definitely going to be a new hat. I think the dark purple one is my favourite of the two, although the black one will go with absolutely anything. Which do you prefer? Both hats are available online now and priced at £28 each.

I'm not the most stable lady in wedges but these lace-up caged ones are bloody gorgeous! Perfect for all year round really, pair these with a little white dress in the summer for a smoking hot evening outfit or with some black skinnies and a loose fitting blouse and blazer in the winter for a super smart day to night look. Available now online for £55.

I'm fairly sure that I've mentioned watches in every other post recently. This one is deffo the most glam to appear on the blog as of late. As I know I've mentioned many a time, nothing quite compares to a Michael Kors watch, but this bad boy is pretty gorgeous if I do say so myself and it's only £35! No need to damage the bank account with a schmancy watch when there are gems like this on the high street!

The 13 year old emo kid inside me is screaming, buy the dress, buy it! Ya'll know that I love a bit of lace and when it's an entire dress made up of the stuff, well I couldn't just ignore it could I?! I basically just can't get over how beautiful this Victorian-esk dress is.. and it's only £45! Not bad for limited edition River Island aye. I might just have to add this to my list of things to buy when I land myself a job!

Cape's are all the rage at the moment and it's taken me a while to find one that doesn't just look like a coat that I already own. This pink tartan faux-fur trim one is something really different for me but I adore it. It's something that I reckon my mum would probably see me wearing and think.. hmmm, i'm not too sure about that one. As styled on the website, I think it'd work perfectly with a seemingly boring monochrome outfit through the cold wintery months. Grab it now for £40.

Another limited edition item are these heeled Chelsea boots. Another great wardrobe staple that'll do you all year round! Snap them up online for £40.

Last but not least is this open backed button-up shirt. Admittedly, anything open backed isn't ideal for autumn/winter, unless you're inside and the heating's turned up to full whack, but this shirt is hella cute front and back. The open back makes for a bit of sexiness and the gold buttons on the front give it that extra bit of jazz. I suppose you could look at it a bit like mullets.. business in the front, party in the back and all that. Grab it online for £28.

So those are my current top picks from River Island right now! What're you loving from River Island right now? Let me know!

The Charity Shop Coat | #OOTD

Wednesday, October 21, 2015
Coat - Charity Shop(Next) | Scarf - Stolen from the mother | Bag - "Brand New" The British Heart Foundation | Shoes - Peacocks | Top - Primark | Skirt - Topshop (similar) | Bracelet - Alex + Ani

I just want to address the fact that I am fully aware that I look like an absolute creeper and a half in these photos, but the colours were too good not to use them! I also somehow managed to bugger up the quality of the pictures during the editing process, I promise i'll get better at this one day..

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I picked up this absolute bargain of a coat in a charity shop on the Tewkesbury high street for just £4.50.. and it's brand new, from Next! How lucky am I?! It's really snug and warm and fits like an absolute dream!

My mum's recently had a clear out of wardrobe and she asked me to have a look through the bags that she was going to drop off at the charity shop in case there was anything in there that tickled my fancy. So of course I had to have a rummage and I pulled out this MASSIVE black knitted scarf. I'm not joking, it's over 6ft long! I can wrap it around my neck two or three times and it's still dangling over my tummy! The weather here has gotten super cold over the last week or so, so this little gem has been keeping me toasty!
Not that you can really see in these photos but my top is a little white, ribbed, cropped tee from Primark. I have two exactly the same because well, they were £1 so I couldn't just take one, that would have been rude! They're so handy and go with literally everything! I'm trying to get my hands on a pinafore dress at the moment and I know they'll be be perfect for under that too.

My bracelet is my current favourite accessory. Two of my absolutely amazing buddies, Kathy and Sammy, gifted it to me when I left Gibraltar last month and it only really leaves my wrist whilst I sleep and shower! It's from a brand called Alex + Ani and it has a lotus flower on the charm and it's safe to say that i'm obsessed with it. The Alex + Ani bracelets are adjustable in a really clever way, meaning that the fit everyone and you don't have to fanny about with a tiny little clasp when you're trying to get it on!
Last but not least, check out my new little handbag! It's an adorable, bright blue, miniature satchel with deep/dark pink and gold detailing. It's just the right size to fit everything I need in it! Mum and I spotted it in the British Heart Foundation charity shop in Tewkesbury but I decided to leave it and think on it a little, but then whilst we were visiting Colwyn Bay, we saw it in there too, so mum kindly treated me to it! If I can remember correctly, it was £12.99 full price but down to £10 on offer from their "brand new" section.
So what do you think of my bargain coat? Do you shop in charity shops? What's the best bargain you've ever found? Let me know!

#TOMSUnplugged | TOMS Community Outpost, London

Tuesday, October 20, 2015

A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to win ticket's to attend TOMS UK's first ever #TOMSUnplugged event on Friday the 9th, to see one of my all time favourites, Mallory Knox who were supported by Nations, at their TOMS Community Outpost at Foubert's Place in Carnaby Street, London!

Just in case you've been living under a rock, TOMS are an ethical footwear brand that, through the sales of their products, help people in need. TOMS help to provide shoes, sight, water and safe birth services to those in need. If you would like to know more about exactly how TOMS helps those in need, you can read all about it right here over on their website.

The TOMS store in London is a community outpost, meaning it's a hybrid between a retail and a community space. Equipped with it's own cafe bar that serve TOMS roasting co. coffee, I tried it, it's gorgeous, go grab yourself a cup, it makes this adorably decorated, teeny two story store, a perfect venue for intimate gigs.. and what a perfectly intimate gig it was!
I'm going to have a guess and say that there were around 100 people that attended the event and luckily, we all managed to fit inside pretty comfortably. First up to perform were a band called Nations, which in all honesty, I hadn't heard of before but they were pretty darn good! I must make a note to self to find them on spotify. They performed a short acoustic set to warm us up for the boys themselves, Mallory Knox!

I was lucky enough to see Mallory Knox perform at Download Festival this year and since then, it's been safe to say that they've been a firm favourite of mine. If you've not heard of Mallory Knox before, I highly suggest that you go and listen to both of their albums but the songs, Glimmer, She took him to the lake, Wake up, Lighthouse and Shout at the moon in particular. I was feeling a little uncomfortable on the day so Jack and I decided to stay towards the back of the store, which worked out pretty well for us, as when Mallory Knox arrived, they walked right past us! Queue fan girl moment when Mikey (The lead singer from Mallory Knox) says "hey guys," Jesus, he's adorable.. Moving on..

The boys were on the last leg of their UK tour and were actually performing their final show that night at the Roundhouse! They gave us a beautiful, intimate acoustic performance which was basically one giant sing-a-long and it couldn't have been more perfect!
Story time. TOMS were using the upstairs part of their store as the sort of backstage area, but well, tmi, I really needed to go for a wee. So of course, me being me, I just asked the barista if I could please use their loo. I had to be "escorted" upstairs which was a little embarrassing but I did feel pretty boss getting to go underneath the barrier and up the stairs. Just my luck, busting for a wee and there was someone in there already. A couple of minutes passed before Dave (the drummer for Mallory Knox) came out of the toilet. Queue fan girl moment #2. I won't tell you the rest of the story but you can take guesses if you like! There's never a strong enough air freshener to cover up the scent of a man dumps is there? Dave, if by any chance you're reading this and it wasn't you, then i'm sorry. You'll just have to write a blog post and tell the world it was the chappy before ya, haha!

Mallory Knox were actually also hosting a meet and greet for everyone that attended the event, but unfortunately, I became too uncomfortable and had to leave the venue. Despite that, I had a brilliant time! It was amazing to see Mallory Knox in such a small venue and intimate atmosphere as appose to seeing them in the middle of a field, in the rain, drinking crap coffee, whilst humongous DHL planes fly overhead. Don't get me wrong, Download was amazing, just sayin'!

This was the first #TOMSUnplugged gig but I'm certain that it won't be their last! Have you been to any gigs recently, or have any lined up? Let me know and remember, have a great day ♡

Have you seen this post?

PS: Don't forget to check out the entire TOMS range, that's shoes, bags and eye wear, over on their website

Quote of the Week | #61

Monday, October 19, 2015
"You have to wake up every morning and tell yourself, 'I can do this' "

I've been doing these quote's of the week for a really long time now, in fact, it was one of the first weekly feature's I started on my little blog. My main idea with this whole thing was to take a quote that's currently inspiring me or helping me through a bit of a rough patch and share it with you guys, because after all, you never know who might be reading, they might just need a little bit of positivity in their life! You can never have too much positivity in your life!

This past week, I've felt a little deflated, unmotivated and just a bit rubbish. This quote has popped in and out of my head on occasion and I've held on to the thought for all of about five minutes and then just completely disregarded it. This week however, i'm going to make this my little morning mantra, because you know what, I can do this!

I've decided to compile a little list of goals for this week:
  • Wake up at a decent hour, every morning. By this, I mean between 7 and 8 am, believe me, this can sometime's be a real challenge for me.
  • Keep on top of all my blog posts. I've got loads of ideas for this week and next, some of them are super duper fun too, eep!
  • Get in some exercise. This could prove to be a little challenging as during last night's run I hurt my ankle a little, ouchy.
  • Keep positive about job hunting! I've been back in sunny ol' England for over a month now and I've still not found someone nutty enough to hire me! All jokes aside, I'm really starting to get fed up of being unemployed, fingers crossed that something fab lands in my inbox this week!
What are your goals for this week? Remember, let's kick this week in the arse, we can do this, you can do this! ♡

Sunday Style Board | #43

Sunday, October 18, 2015

Another super casual look this week. Also, before anyone thinks i'm nuts or living in Oz, I'm fully aware that there isn't a jumper or a coat in this look.. Let's just hope for a nice sunny autumn day..?! Also, there's accidentally a lot of H&M in this post, hashtag not obsessed.

I've been wearing a lot of fairly plain and slouchy tee's at the moment. Sure, they're super duper casual but they're easy to wear and you can easily make them look a bit more.. fancy. I'm not usually a fan of anything with a high neck but this top from H&M is a wide fit and it doesn't look like it'd be choking me for 8 hours. Grab it online for £14.99.

My mum's been sporting white jeans on the regular for the last couple of months now and i'm really loving it, even for a/w! This pair from H&M in particular are ankle grazers which I've spoken about recently, still not 100% sure if I just like them or absolutely love them, with rips at the knee, of course. I think they'd look really smart with these (also) H&M boots, which I know, I already blogged about this week but aren't they lush?! Both products are available in store and online for £25 each.

I hated snood's when they first came out a couple of years ago, I can't really tell you why, I just really didn't like them! Alas, they grew on me and now I'm picking them up every time I go into Primark! This deep red snood is from New Look and is available online for £6.99. It's the perfect accessory to add an easy pop of colour to your outfit!

Another style board, another canvas tote, but how perfect is the lettering?! I'm a proper coffee addict and I really don't know how i'd get about my day without having that glorious morning cuppa! Available online now from Shopbop for £21. You should deffo check out their site for all their other canvas bags too, you won't regret it! Not the cheapest, but definitely the most awesome.

I'm in desperate need of a new watch. Nower days there is so much choice out there, it becomes really hard to choose just one! I love the simplicity of this one, black and gold are always a great combo and it'll go with absolutely anything! Available online now for around £9.50.

So what do you think of this look? Would you rock it? Let me know! I hope everyone's had a wonderful weekend and are ready for the new week ahead! ♡

Prestige Flowers | Luxury Christmas Flowers Bouquet*

Saturday, October 17, 2015
A couple of weeks ago, the lovely Gabriela over at Prestige Flowers got in touch to see if I'd be interested in reviewing one of their Christmas flowers bouquets* from their platinum range, so being the flower child I always have been, of course I said yes!

There's no escaping it, Christmas is only 9 weeks and 6 days away! The shops have started bringing out their advent calender's, festive treats and greetings cards and I've even been to a restaurant that had their Christmas tree up! I'm a true believer in the power of flowers! I've lost count of how many times I've treated myself to a bunch, sorry not sorry! I think flowers are just perfect for every occasion, or non occasion if "well done, you made it out of bed this week" doesn't count as reason to celebrate?(totally does!) and really, they make a super lovely but yet easy gift for that one person that you really don't know what to get, because come on, everyone loves flowers, right?

Prestige Flowers are one of the UK's leading online florists and are currently voted numbero uno on the Review Centre and editor's choice for best online florist over on Review Florist. Prestige Flowers cater for a wide range of occasions with their fresh flowers, plants and hampers that are all arranged in house by their highly trained florists. So it's safe to say that I had high expectations, but let me tell you, they sure lived up to them!
My gorgeous, perfectly festive bouquet arrived at the beginning of this week, safely wrapped up in a box, delivered right to my doorstep I had actually just popped out so they were left with our lovely neighbours but shh. Along with them came a care guide and an adorable little box of chocolates! Unfortunately, i'm vegan so I wasn't able to have them myself, but none the less, they were greatly appreciated.
I had a quick read through the flower care guide, snipped the ends and got my bouquet into a vase and ran them up to my bedroom and proudly displayed them on my windowsill. The roses are ruby red and have bloomed so beautifully! I adore the contrast in colours against the green in the bouquet. Despite my bouquet being in my bedroom, I think they'd be super fitting for a dining room table over the festive season!
Did you know that there are over 20,000 varieties of rose?! How insane is that! It's now Saturday and they're still going strong! Not only does my bouquet still look lovely (I mean there are a couple of "cuts and bruises" shall we say but nothing overly noticeable) but they also smell divine! Overall, i'm super happy with this bouquet and I know that i'll certainly be making a couple of Christmas flower purchases in the coming months!

Speaking of making purchases, Prestige Flowers have kindly given all of you a 15% discount code that you can use not only on their Christmas flowers but on all bouquets, site wide! Just enter the code "MAISIE15" at the final stage of checkout! Their luxury Christmas bouquets are available from just £19.99!

Have you ordered from Prestige Flowers before? Were you as satisfied as I was? Let me know if you make a purchase!

Have you seen this post?

*Disclaimer: Although this item was gifted to me by the above company, all opinions on the product are 100% honest and of my own. I would never give a false/misleading review of a product, no matter what relationship I have with the company.

Collection Lasting Colour Lipstick | Aubergine Kiss

Friday, October 16, 2015
A little while ago, my mum and I were having a mooch around boots and stocking up on some essentials when, as always, I found myself becoming a human canvas testing out all the Collection lipsticks. I've been a fan of Collection Cosmetics for years now and their lipsticks never disappoint! See here, here and here.
I know I bang on about autumn all the time, but if there's one thing that beats all my other reasons for loving this season so much, it's the make up. I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but a couple of years ago I was never really a fan of lipsticks, I just felt as though I couldn't pull it off because of my teeny-tiny top lip, but with the help of YouTube and a couple of fab beauty tools, I think I can almost get away with it now.
I love a deep, berry shade, so you can imagine my excitement when I found Collection's Lasting Colour Lipstick in shade number 13, Aubergine Kiss. Isn't it dreamy?! It does appear a lot darker in the bullet to how it actually transfers onto the lips. It's fairly similar to their Gothic Glam range of shades, which are all equally as gorgeous

All of the Collection lipsticks that I've managed to get my paws on are really long lasting, hence the name I suppose, and don't dry my lips out, which always makes them a winner! It doesn't have a matte finish to it but it's not super glossy either.. it's somewhere in the middle, is there a word for that? Yes? No? Let's not forget that the Collection lipstick's are only £2.99 at boots, absolute bargain!
Have you tried this shade yet? Or any of the other Collection Lasing Colour lipsticks? What did you think, do you rate them as highly as I do? Let me know!

So last month, the lovely Jemma over at dorkface hosted a super cute giveaway.. and I only went and won the damn thing, yippie! I honestly never win anything, minus £1 on a scratchcard here and there, so I was super excited when I saw the tweet saying that I'd won!

I received the experimenter bath bomb from Lush, a pack of adorable heart stickers, an equally adorable pegasus pen, a mini notepad, 3 lucky cat erasers, Makeup Revolution lipstick in Rebel With Cause which is a down right beautiful shade, Makeup Revolution blush in Treat, Makeup Revolution Iconic 2 palette, 3 Superdrug face masks,  a pink, A5, Ohh Deer (If you haven't already, check out the Ohh Deer website, stationary lust overload) notebook and a custom blogger bracelet made by the lovely lady herself! October Wishlist | Basics

Wednesday, October 14, 2015

I can't believe it's already almost halfway through the month, it's flying by! Although, I don't really mind all that much as it just means that we're closer to Halloween, woo! Let's get straight into this shall we.

First up is this shirt dress, that i'm pretty sure my friend Kim has, from H&M. I love khaki green for autumn, hence my ever growing love for parka's, and I think this piece is something really easy to wear but looks a little fancy, do you know what I mean? Throw it on over some black leggings and pumps or boots and you're good to go! Grab it online now for just £19.99. Also available in black and dark blue.

I've spoken a lot about my feelings towards yellow and mustard this year and this coat has just added to my love for the latter. Isn't it the most gorgeous shade you've ever seen!? I'm still not sure just how well, or not, this colour would suit me but if I find myself with a bit of extra cash at the end of the month, I think I might just have to make a cheeky Romwe order. I think i'd definitely size up for an extra boxy/boyfriend kinda fit. Currently in the sale at just £26.45, grab it right here!

You can never have too many bags, at least that's what I keep telling myself. Especially little canvas tote bags, plus they're extra handy now with that pesky 5p per bag law! Who doesn't love an adventure? This super cute bag by Olivia and Frank is available online now for just £10.

I'm still on the hunt for my perfect pair of boots for this season and I keep thinking I've almost found them.. until I somehow manage to find an even better pair! These H&M ankle boots have an 8.5cm heel on them and they're dark brown as apposed to being black. I think brown boots can make an outfit look a little more classy, don't you? Grab these online now for £24.99.

Last but not least is this very time of year appropriate sweatshirt. Isn't Halloween Town one of the greatest films of all time? It's been a good couple of years since I've seen it but I might dust the cobwebs off the case and give it a watch sometime this week, who's coming? I'm all for being cosy and when you can be awesome and cosy at the same time, you're a winner! This sweatshirt is available from a little store on Etsy called The One Stop Shirt Short Stop for just £19.20!

So there are the things on my basics October wishlist! What are you loving this month? Let me know!

"The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday"

In a world of selfie's and social media, it's hard not to compare yourself to others. Whether that's comparing the way that you look or the job that you have, it's a pretty unhealthy thing to do.

I am my own worst critic. Over the last couple of years, more often than not, I have found myself flicking through my Instagram feed(cheeky plug!) comparing my aesthetics to others and putting myself down about it, or reading through other people's achievements and (I know i'm not the only one guilty of this)instead of being happy for that person, found myself sitting in a puddle of my own self pity thinking why can't I be like that or why can't I do that. Life isn't about good luck, it's about working hard so that you can be happy and get what you want out of life.

So remember, DON'T: Compare yourself to others but DO: focus on bettering yourself, for yourself and always move forward ♡ Happy Tuesday and remember to keep smiling!
