"Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will"
Everyone has doubt in some form or another in their life. I spend a lot of time doubting myself. My decisions, my actions and sometimes even my thoughts. It's a hard habit to get out of, but this year I'm trying really hard not to let the doubt get the better of me. It's holding me back in so many ways and I'm not going to let it any longer.

I'm a pretty anxious person. Sorry for dropping the A bomb, but so many things in life make me incredibly anxious. I won't go into it too much, but what I will say is that feeling doubtful and anxious about so many things is stopping me from reaching my full potential.

Right now, i'm in a pretty good place in my life. I have a sturdy job, a roof over my head, good people around me and a strong, happy and healthy relationship. But even though I have all of those things, it doesn't stop my brain from thinking up and going over 6528304 reasons why they're all going to somehow fall away from me.

I'm always trying to spread positivity, both here on my little corner of the internet and in my life in general, so maybe it's time I started spreading it through myself as well! I really believe in this quote, doubt is holding so many people back from achieving all the things they want to accomplish today, tomorrow and in their whole lives.

Let today be the day that you stop doubting yourself and start believing in yourself! Try it out, whatever it may be, if it doesn't work out quite how you expected but it's something you really want, then try again. Failure is a stepping stone, not a finish line.

Tartan On Stripes | #OOTD

Hat - Peacocks | Scarf/Shawl - Primark | Jumper - Charity Shop | Bag - 21 Store | Jeans - Dorothy Perkins | Boots - Primark

On Thursday, it was my mumma's birthday(for the 273892 time, happy birthday mum!) so we decided to take a trip in to Cheltenham for the day! Of course, we started the day off with coffee before hitting the shops and oh my did we find some bargains! My favourite purchases of the day were the prints and stickers that I found in the sale section at Paperchase, which you'll have seen if you follow me on Instagram

Back to the outfit, this is probably my favourite outfit that I've worn in a while! You'll recognise this hat from old blog posts but pretty much everything else is making it's debut today. I snatched this mahoosive scarf/wrap/shawl up in Primark a couple of weeks ago for around £7 and I take it absolutely everywhere with me! It's so cosy and warm, I even take it to work with me and wrap it around myself like a blanket when I have my breaks! It's actually reversible and has a hounds tooth pattern on the other side.

My mum actually picked up this jumper in a charity shop the other day but decided that it wasn't really her thing, so lucky me got to have second dibs, boom! Not that you can see it much in the photos because i'm clearly hanging on to my scarf for dear life, but it's striped in black and white and then has a large stripe of red at the hem which I just think is super duper cute, right?

My favourite part of this outfit is my new and beloved Primark, heeled, knee length boots, just look at them, can you blame me?! They cost me £22 which really, is a lot of money when it comes to Primark, but when I tried them on in store, they fit so perfectly and looked so *swish* that I had to have them! So with that, my new love was born! I've also worn them with skirts and tights which I think looks equally as cute!

(AND MUM!)also got stopped by two journalist to have my photo taken for the street style sections in their magazine's, how cool is that! One of the magazine's comes out today with the Gloucestershire echo, so i'll share some photos on my social media, so make sure you're following me!

So what do you think of this outfit, would you rock it? How would you style these boots? Let me know!

Make Up Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter Peach Lights; Love, Maisie
Last year, oh my gosh how weird is it to say that, well; last month, I took part in the #VCSecretSanta! I was lucky enough to receive lots of lovely gifts from Sarah(ThingsSarahLoves). One of those gifts was this dreamy Make Up Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in the shade Peach Lights!

Fairy Dust | Lily-Flame | Candle Review

Love, Maisie blog. Fairy Dust candle review
I was really spoilt this Christmas, I received so many lovely gifts from everyone it's almost overwhelming! One of the gifts that I'm enjoying the most is this Fairy Dust Lily Flame candle from Jack. Yes, I love pretty much all of the "typical blogger cliche's", candle's probably being highest on the list.

Lily Flame was founded by Jo Nicholls who turned her passionate hobby of candle making in her kitchen, into a thriving nationwide business! These lovely candles are handmade in Somerset and Lily-Flame are supposedly the industry standard leaders who invented the "candle tin!"
I was so eager to light this little pot of joy that I forgot to photograph it before I lit it, oops! If you ask me and my awfully short bank of scent adjective's, to me, the Fairy Dust(£8.95) candle smells like a beautiful combination of freshly washed sheets and parma violets!

On the Lily Flame website, the scent is described as difficult to describe but with it's fine fragrance it's powdery, warm, sparkly and magical! What a beaut of a description that is, right?! Apparently, this candle is their most popular and I can totally see why! I think this candle makes a perfect gift for anyone, as the scent isn't too sweet and it's so delicate and refreshing, yet it really does fill the room! My mum and my little brother even asked what i'd be burning in my room the other evening!

I've had this candle lit a couple of evening's in a row now and it doesn't seem to have gone down much at all! Apparently, it should burn for 30-35 hours which is a pretty decent time for a candle that's on the smaller size! It's also recommended that you burn the candle for around 3 hours at a time. Also, how cute is the pink and silver watercolour packaging?!

There are so many different and scrumy sounding scents over on the Lily Flame website including Bluebell Forest, Wild Jasmine, Mango Fandango and Lavender and Lime! They also create gorgeous looking glass jar candles, room sprays and diffusers!

I'm super pleased with this little tin of magically scented goodness! Thank you very much Mr.Jack! Have you tried any of the Lily Flame candles? I certainly can't wait to get my hands on some more!

Lylia Rose | Make Up Bag

Tuesday, January 05, 2016
When I heard back from Victoria, at Lylia Rose, that she'd like me to feature one of her items on my blog, I was thrilled! Lylia Rose is an online boutique that's filled with an exciting mix of scarves, purses/make up bags and jewellery! Founded by the lovely Victoria, blogger and mummy of two, who has managed to build up her business and fill her website with some really gorgeous pieces! Like this blue, floral, vintage inspired make up bag!

Blue Floral Birds Make Up Bag - £9.99*
Not only is this make up bag gorgeous, but it's pretty darn sturdy too! I honestly don't know how to pack light when it comes to make up and cosmetics, because what if I do need both cleansers and five different lipsticks for a two night stay away? I managed to pack a questionably unnecessary amount of cosmetics into this little makeup bag, to the point of almost bursting, but it powered through and there were no mishaps(no one wants to deal with a broken zip!)! It's actually quite surprising how many items I managed to get in there!

I really adore the print on this bag, don't you? Lylia Rose only stock between one and six of each of the items on their website, but fortunately, there are still a couple of these make up bags available to purchase! You can even bag yourself 20% off by using my code LoveMaisie at the checkout! You can use my discount code site wide

I've made a little collection of some of my other favourite items that are currently available to purchase from Lylia Rose!

Something else that I adore about Lylia Rose is that 2.5% of all their sales go towards The Grand Appeal, The Bristol Children's Hospital Charity. How fantastic is that! You can treat yourself to a gorgeous new accessory and help out an amazing cause too!

The price's on Lylia Rose are all amazing, ranging site wide from around £3.99 to £15, which for what you're getting is amazing value for money! Just look at the jewellery, to die for! Will you be making a purchase today? Remember to use my code LoveMaisie for 20% off your order! Oh, did I mention that they offer free UK first class delivery and also have EU shipping options available! Will you be snatching up one of the last of these gorgeous make up bags? Let me know!

Hello 2016!

Monday, January 04, 2016
Hello internet! I know it's been a couple of weeks since I shared a new blog post, but I'm officially back and so ready for 2016! I hope you've all had a wonderful festive period and are looking forward to all the new adventures and challenges in 2016!

I'm sure all of your social media feeds are still being flooded with these types of posts, but I really wanted to kick off 2016 on Love, Maisie with some super duper positive notes! That's why I have decided to not talk about or reflect on 2015, but to instead solely talk about the year ahead and all the things that I hope to get out of 2016!
love maisie blog, hello 2016
1. Blog plans
Love, Maisie will celebrate it's third birthday this year and I can't honestly believe that I've been writing it for so long, even if some months it is on the rarity! I've never really been the type of person to stick at just one thing, so I'm actually pretty proud of myself that I've managed to find my "thing". I'm 110% ready to put a whole lot more of my efforts into my blog and by that I mean everything from regular/consistent uploads to improving my design, photography and writing skills to bring the best content to Love, Maisie that I possibly can!

2. YouTube plans?
YouTube has been something that I've dabbled in on and off now for a couple of years, never really sticking to it or having any general direction with it, but I have decided that as from today, I'm going to be filming little snippets of my life every single day and compiling them into weekly vlogs! This is selfishly more so for myself than for anyone else/the internet in general, as I think it'll be so wonderful at the end of the year to look back on all of the lovely memories that I've managed to capture in video form! If you'd like to come along on this little journey with me then feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel right here.

3. A Secret Project!
So, I'm not really going to mention too much about this at the moment as it's still a work in progress.. by which I mean it's still pretty much just an idea in my (hint:and in someone else's) head! But what I will tell you is that I think this might just be one of the most exciting and fun projects that I'll have worked on to date! Stay tuned! Fancy another hint? It may or may not involve getting to eat loads of yummy food!
Love, Maisie; hello 2016
4. Rediscovering my creative side
I recently created an Etsy account which I spoke about briefly on Love, Maisie and over on some of my social media accounts. I wanted to start hand writing and selling prints in these gorgeous white frames that I managed to pick up on my local high street. I've so far uploaded only one print, but I've already designed a couple more that I need to photograph and list!

Basically, this year I hope to be really busy and creative and not waste a single moment, because time is precious my friends! I hope you're all having a wonderful year so far and if you have any plans or resolutions, I hope they're going well! What have you got planned for this year? Let me know! Let's smash 2016!
