"Throw kindness around like confetti" *Img src
Everyone is dealing with something. Sometimes, you can see on the outside what it is that person is dealing with or carrying with them, but more often than not, you can't. It really is the little things; like your boyfriend bringing you coffee in bed at the dreaded hour that is 6.30am or a stranger shouting out to you in the street to tell you that they like your hat.

Being kind is so easy and essentially a simple act. However, your act of kindness could really brighten up someone's darkest of days. I've put together a little list of kind things below, infact, there's seven things on this list, so maybe you could try and do one for each day of this week? See, easy!

Smile at the person you sit opposite on the train on your way to work.
Buy the person behind you their morning coffee order.
Send a bouquet of flowers to your mum.
Compliment the new staff member at work on how great they're doing.
Text/Call your grandparents and just ask them how their day is going.
Spotted that empty coffee cup on the floor next to the bin? Go ahead and pop it into the bin.
Write a little positive message and leave it somewhere for a stranger to find.

What was the last little kind thing that you did for someone? Or the last time someone did something kind to you? Do you ever carry out little random acts of kindness? Let me know and remember, keep smiling ♡

Love and Light Hand Cream | Lush

Tuesday, February 23, 2016
For Christmas, I was lucky enough to receive a little box full of Lush goodies from Jack's mum, because she's lovely like that! Amongst some of my favourite Lush products, there was the Love and Light hand cream!
Love and Light Hand Cream | Lush | Love, Maisie
I'd not used this hand cream before but it seems to be a blogger favourite, so I was quite excited to try it out. The pot that I have is actually just 55g but I don't think you can buy that size pot in store separately, I'm pretty sure it only comes in the Lush gift boxes, but forgive me if i'm wrong!

The first thing I want to talk about is the scent. Love and Light has a really light and fresh scent to it. You guys know that I'm no expert when it comes to describing scents, but there is neroli oil, Brazilian orange oil and orange flower absolute oil in there, so if you can try and imagine those three oil scents all blended together, then that's what this hand cream smells like! Alternatively, pop into a Lush store and give this bad boy a sniff! It almost smells a bit like a summer garden? Okay I give trying to explain this!

Secondly, the consistency of this hand cream is pretty thin and as my hands are so ridiculously dry at the moment, I do tend to use a fair amount to get good coverage over both of my hands BUT it doesn't leave my hands feeling greasy or leave a weird film on them, which is amazing because there are so many hand creams that I've used before that I've stopped using after just one or two uses because they just feel gross and greasy.
Love and Light Hand Cream | Lush | Love, Maisie review
I've been trying to remember to use this hand cream at least twice a day, once in the morning and again in the evening before bed. Admittedly, some days I completely forget to use it but then other days I use it up to five times! I would definitely recommend this hand cream to anyone that's in search of something light on the paws and easy on the nostrils, but that also leaves your hands feeling super smooth and supple! It's not the cheapest hand cream out there, but it doesn't really break the bank either and I know as soon as this pot is finished, I'll be buying the 220g pot straight away!

Have you tried Lush's Love and Light hand cream? What did you make of it? Let me know below! This product is 100% Vegan!

"Some days you eat salads and go to the gym, some days you eat cupcakes and refuse to put on pants. It's called balance." *img source
Finding balance in our lives can be difficult. Whether that's finding the right balance between work and play or carbs and salad. All joking aside, I feel like it's really important to find that balance.

I'm going to keep it short and sweet today, but what I will say is don't kick yourself for having a no pants and carbs in bed kinda day, enjoy it! Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all have a fantastic start to the week!

H&M Home Wishlist

Saturday, February 13, 2016
On Monday, Jack and I took a quick trip around The Oracle in Reading and of course, I stumbled and fell into the H&M home section and ohmylord. You guys, everything in there right now is absolutely drop dead gorgeous! It's made me even more excited to soon have my own place again! So I thought I'd put together a little wishlist of all of my current favourite picks from H&M's home section.
H&M Home Wishlist | Love, Maisie

There are a lot of greens and yellows going on here, which I wouldn't really say are colours that I would usually go for, but I'm really liking the idea of bringing in a few more spring/summery colours into my living space this year.

I especially love all the little storage boxes/crates, I think they'd look really cute in the kitchen for keeping fruit and other dry goods. A quirky banana theme also seems to be something that I could quite easily have in my kitchen, isn't that just strangely super cute?

I also seem to have gone a little mad for cushions haven't I? I am an avid lover of cushions so it's actually no surprise to me that I've made a mini pyramid up there! My favourite's are probably the leaf print one and the Let's Stay In Bed pillow case.

I hope you enjoy my little collection of bits and bobs that I'm currently lusting over and if you make any sneaky purchases, make sure to let me know! What have you got your eye on at the moment? Do you feel a little shopping trip coming along? Because I certainly do!

14 Things We All Think When We Have The Flu

Friday, February 12, 2016
As I type this post up, I am full of cold(dare I say full blown flu), tucked up into my bed with multiple layers on, including the chaviest nike hoodie ever, and sipping on the world's worst tasting lemsip, vom. I know it's not just me that has these strange and seemingly mad thought processes when I'm poorly, so in true Maisie fashion, I thought i'd write a little blog post about it!
14 Things We All Think When We Have The Flu | Love, Maisie
1. Am I dying or do I just have the flu? *Googles symptoms* definitely dying.

2. Maybe now is a good time to start religiously taking my daily vitamins.

3. Why does this lemsip taste like warm, sugary, liquid hell? Wait, how many of these do I have to drink today?

4. How many consecutive days can I avoid washing my hair?

5. Can you drown your inside's in orange juice? Not from concentrate, obvs.

6. This is the perfect opportunity to catch up on some blog post writing! *Opens laptop* nope, back to bed.

7. Am I hot? Just warm? Cold? Freezing? Do I have a fever? Oh god, am I going to walk outside into the cold weather and have my thermostat fail on me and end up removing all my clothes in fear that I'm too hot but then actually freeze to death?

8. Why am I crying? Why does my entire body ache?

9. I want my mum. I need my mum.

10. Does my skin always look this gross?

11. How many hours of Hazel Hayes videos can I watch in 12 hours whilst I'm curled up in bed feeling sorry for myself? 12, duh.

12. Maybe I should have a bath. What if I get stuck in it and have to wait until someone comes home so that they can rescue me?!

13. But seriously.. am I dying?

14. I'm sick, do I really need to get dressed into real clothes and put makeup on, just to pop to the shops for more orange juice and lemsips? Probably.. don't want to terrify the staff in the Co-op.

For me, it's currently Wednesday evening and this post goes live on Friday, so hopefully I'm feeling better by then! If i'm not, i'm sure you'll hear about it on my Twitter(cheeky plug, hey hey). Do you struggle to think rationally when you're poorly? Let me know!

New Specs + Other Updates

Friday, February 05, 2016
A collection of awkward photos of myself wearing my new specs. because why not.
Hello there internet, I'm alive! You may, or then again maybe you haven't, noticed that I've been a little absent from the blogging world for the last couple of weeks. That's mainly just because I've been busy working a lot and on my days off I've been catching up on sleep and trying to have some sort of social life.

I finally got new glasses you guys! I've been without my glasses for months now and if you've lost/broken your glasses and keep telling yourself that you'll "book the appointment soon", do it right now! My left eye has gotten significantly worse since my last opticians appointment, not good! I know new specs cost a lot of £££ but for your own health, get to it now girl

In the last year, my life has changed quite a lot and i'm so grateful for all of the amazing and wonderful things that have come my way, but it's not over yet! Firstly, i'm moving, again! I have finally decided to move down to the Reading area and I'm so super excited! This of course meant, that I sadly had to give my notice in at my current job. I've only been there for four short months but I've had a lot of fun and met some lovely people along the way! It'll be sad to leave them all but at the same time I'm excited to see what life throws my way career wise this year!

But you don't have a new job yetNo, I don't have a new job yet, but it's a risk I'm willing to take with the move! I did however, had an interview at the beginning of this week! Hurrah, go me right?! It's for something a little different to my previous lines of work but I'd be super stoked if I landed the position! I shall keep you informed, probably via twitter, so maybe take a look at my handle if you're curious!

I've been vlogging since the beginning of the year but with my current job it's been a little tough because I really mean it when I say that I work a lot. But I'm really going to try and vlog a whole lot more when I make the move, so make sure you subscribe to my channel to keep up to date with all of that and my babbling!

So tell me, what's new in your life so far this year? I hope 2016's treating you well and I hope you're achieving all of your goals and reaching towards all of your dreams! Big love to you all!
