"Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground" - Teddy Roosevelt img source*
I've sat and stared at this quote for at least five days now, not continuously, but enough for it to be imprinted on the front of my brain and for it to be written on the inside of my eyelids. I'm not 100% sure why this quote specifically is having such an impact on me, but I guess I will try and explain.
If you've been reading my little blog for a while, you'll know that my uploads are often inconsistent and i'm indecisive as anything. You'll have seen me talk about 3872501 projects but only seen the outcome of about five. You may even remember that at the start of the year I shared a little post about my hopes and dreams. I still cling onto the hopes and dreams that I briefly mentioned in that post with a hold so tight that I often think my fingers might actually snap off.
I think it's really important to have big dreams, you just have to remember to believe in them. I'm not saying that I haven't fully believed in some of my past aspirations, as working two jobs or just battling with my demons can often take away the time it takes to be able to project myself into these things. I don't think that you should have dreams for the "sake" of having them, do you know what I mean? It's taken me 21 years to
almostreally know what I want out of life and to realise what it is that I want to achieve. Now that I've realised what these things are, I feel in control of themmy life! Am I making sense? Are you still with me?
I suppose this quote speaks for itself. Never lose sight of your dreams but always, always stay grounded. I'm sure you all have that cliche childhood memory of you mother or your nana or your year 8 lit teacher saying "anything is possible when you put your mind to it," but it really is, you just have to believe in yourself. Now, I know typing that out onto a keyboard is a lot easier than actually practicing it, but I promise you; if you can start believing in yourself today then tomorrow you'll have a little more faith and next week you'll have even more and so on and so forth. #positivevibes
I feel like this post it a bit word vomitty and not that fluid(excuse the disgustingly accidental pun) but I really felt like I should post it, so if you've actually read through it, then don't worry, I'm nearly finished babbling. If you take anything away from this post, I hope it's a little, if not a lot, of encouragement and positive energy that you can transfer into your own life. Remember, you got this!
