Tea Tree Toner Water | Lush Review | Love, Maisie
If you've been reading Love, Maisie for a while now, you'll know that I complain about my oily skin all the time. Recently, my skin has flared up something awful. It became more oily, more inflamed and irritated and I've had breakouts down both of my cheeks, not the summer skin I was hoping for. Around a month ago, I popped into the Lush in Reading and spoke to one of the lovely ladies in there (I think her name was Tore, so if you know her, tell her thanks!) to get some advice on what products might help with my ~*situation*~.

I ended up spending around £30 in total, oops, but one of the items that I picked up that I wanted to talk to you about is Lush's Tea Tree Toner Water. I used to work for a handmade cosmetics company so I know a thing or two about essential oils and if there's one oil that will work wonders on your skin, it's tea tree. I'd been out of a toner for about a month at this point, so it was well deserved anyway(so I told myself at the time when I handed my bank card over), despite my new mountain ranges.

For one, Lush's tea tree toner water smells so refreshing! Amongst the scent of tea tree which I personally really like, there's also grapefruit water in there, which smells divine and juniper berry water! In all honesty, the best way to describe it's scent it that it smells like a volvic citrus flavoured water, not bad hey. Tea tree has incredible antibacterial properties so without a doubt, I really believe that this toner was the main product that aided in clearing up my breakouts and irritation across my face. Unfortunately, I've ended up with some slight scaring down my cheeks but I'm hoping that over time, it'll heal up a little more and the scars won't be as visible.
Tea Tree Toner Water | Lush Review | Love, Maisie
You can use this tea tree toner water by simply spraying it directly onto your face(which, once you get used to initial shock of how cold it feels, actually feels great!) or spray onto cotton pads before wiping them over your face to remove the leftovers of any makeup that our cleanser might have missed or even just to refresh your skin after getting out the shower. My skin genuinely feels it's cleanest once I've used this toner.

I think the trick to healing any skin irritation or breakout is consistency. For me, I found that using Lush's tea tree toner water religiously every day has really aided my skin in it's desperate time of need and has even improved the overall feel of my skin! I would highly recommend this product to anyone with oily skin or anyone suffering with painful breakouts. In fact, I might even go as for to say that this is my favourite Lush product to date! P.S, it's 100% vegan!

Have you tried Lush's tea tree toner water? What did you think? Do you rate it as highly as I do? Let me know!

Love, Maisie blog | Quote of the week #68 | "Stop being afraid of what could go wrong. Focus on what could do right."
"Stop being afraid of what could go wrong. Focus on what could go right."
Happy Monday you beautiful lot! How's the world treating you today? Well I hope! I know all I seem to do with these quotes of the week is talk about how negative I am towards myself but sadly, it's true. I spend a lot of time beating myself up about things that sometimes aren't even in my control!

One of the many things that I do, that I'm constantly trying to refrain from doing, is focusing on the negative. I'm not quite sure why I always bring myself back to the negative side of everything but my little brain just likes to throw me up and down I guess! So with this little, beautifully illustrated quote, this week I'm going to focus on looking at the positive outcome of every situation, rather than the negative! Hey, I bet you can too!

Trilogy Stores | Lust List | Love, Maisie
Summer's here! Oh wait.. no, it's gone again.. oh, it looks like it's back! Oh. No. Is anybody else a little confused by the current weather conditions? It's almost July and I'm still wearing jeans and jackets. But hey ho, I can't complain because when you've got options like these, you can look great come rain or shine!

Today I wanted to share my current favourite picks from the Trilogy stores website and I'm gonna jump straight into it with my favourite piece which is this pink Helene Berman patch pocket coat, which Jack has just informed me he thinks looks very 50's Stepford wives? I think that this dusty pink sleeveless jacket could really spruce up your plain t-shirt and jeans look! The model on the Trilogy website rocks it perfectly with a white tee, blue skinnies and black heeled sandals. This it is currently available in the Trilogy sale, woohoo!

Another coat that I've got my eye on is this Helene Berman navy stripe notch collar jacket. Even when we do have those very rare, nice warm and sunny days, the temperature always seems to drop drastically in the evening, so having something like this to throw over your shoulder-less maxi dress is sure to keep you warm and with it's timeless navy stripes, you can re-cycle it through outfit choices time and time again! Find it online now!

Fingers crossed, when July and August come around, we'll all get the chance to complain about how hot it is and be in a dire state of constant sweating and frizzy hair (British summer sounds wonderful, doesn't it?). I for one don't like wearing tight clothing up top, especially when it's hot! So blouses are one of my go to's for the summer. Both of these blouses are gorgeous but my favourite of the two is definitely the white Paige Tess blouse. I love the Greek vibe about it, don't you? Pair with your favourite shorts and sandals and you're good to go! Saying that, the blue patterned Paige Jobeth blouse is a stunner too isn't it?

Seeing as Trilogy are the ones who know denim, let's talk skinny jeans! I've been a firm lover of skinny jeans for what seems like forever now and I honestly don't think they will ever go out of style. Mom jeans and flares will come and go from our wardrobes but I really think that skinnies will always remain our firm favourite. Ripped pink skinny jeans, my absolute dream jeans! These J Band cropped skinnies are a must have for this time of year! I'm definitely thinking about treating myself to these babies. Rock these with a pair of Toms and your Tess blouse for a super casual look.

Last but not least are the J Brand Anja ankle cuff jeans. There's something really elegant about the rolled up cuffs. A staple item that's a little different from the rest of the skinny jeans in your collection. Available online right here!

So there's my current top Trilogy picks! Have you ever shopped at Trilogy before? What did you think? Are you lusting over these items now too? Let me know!

Life is tough my darling, but so are you | Quote of the week | Love, Maisie
"Life is tough my darling, but so are you."
Happy Monday world. I've kept the quote of the week's as part of my new routine for my blog as I think everyone could always do with a bit of positive motivation on a Monday!

If there's anything that I've learnt in the past few months it's that damn man, life is bloody hard. From finding a career path to commuting to work everyday and from house hunting to putting together spreadsheets about your collective income and realising your bank account would end up in an overdraft every month if you lived anywhere within a 50 mile radius of London. Slightly off topic, but I currently live around 42 miles(according to google maps and driving into central) away from London and the house prices are extortionate to say the least! But hey, that's a whole other blog post idea right there!

The message that I want to share with this quote is that yes, life is extremely hard at times, but a, it wont always be this difficult and b, darling; you're a tough cookie! Think about all of the things you have overcome in the last 6 months, year, five years! If like me, you're struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel at the moment, open your journal or a notebook or grab the nearest receipt and list all of the things that you've accomplished in the last five years, I bet you're at least a wee bit proud of yourself.. and if not, you should be!

You can do anything if you put your mind to it, so go on, I believe in you!

Beauty Wishlist, June, Love Maisie
Hello you beautiful lot! Once again, it's been a significant amount of time since I last posted, but take my word this time that I'm back and so ready to take on the big bad blogging world again! I thought I'd dive back in with a good ol' beauty wishlist because honestly, I'm addicted to putting them together and there's pretty much an endless list of beauty items that I'm dying to get in my make up bag.

First up is this (as far as I'm aware) brand new eye shadow palette from Too Faced! Containing nine matte and shimmer shades to die for, packaging fit for a princess AND cute af stickers! The three highlight shades are all as dreamy as each other and I'm seriously lacking in bold, bright eye shadow shades for the summer, so I for one think I should put this straight in my basket! You can grab it online now for £27.

Another item that I've had my eye on for a while is this Too Faced Sweetheart blush in Peach Beach. I don't have a shimmery bronzer in my make up collection, can you believe it, and this one looks like it'd add a load of warmth to my face! Seeing as the British summer seems to be over already (erm, what's with all this rain?!). Coming in at £23 online and packaged beautifully as per with Too Faced!

Here's a blogger favourite that I'm still yet to try, that's the Benefit High Beam highlighter. With pinky tones I think (read hope) that this highlighter would sit pretty well against my skin tone and help me to achieve the sun kissed summer skin us British girls crave! Available at boots now for £19.50.

I'm sure you're all aware that Boots now have an NYX stand, if you weren't, then surprise! So now we're all eagerly ordering all of the NYX Soft Matte lip creams and the Lip Lingerie lipsticks like somebody is going to come along and remove the NYX stand. In all honesty, there isn't an NYX Lip Lingerie shade that I don't like! But I especially like Ruffle Trim, Exotic and Bedtime Flirt. The NYX Lip lingerie's are available from Boots and are priced at £6.50 each.

I've read a really mixed amount of opinions on the Lancome Juicy Shakers, but I'm still eager to give them a go myself! After having a look through all of the 13 shades available, I decided that Cherry Symphony is my favourite. These bad boys claim to be super pigmented and nourishing on the lips, two of the main things you want from a lip product, right? Like I said, I've read a lot of mixed reviews on the Juicy Shakers but I think i'll deffo treat myself to one on payday! Available online now for £18.00.

You've all seen the tap tap advert and ads, haven't you? Well, L'Oreal's marketing campaign for their new Nude Magique Cushion foundation is certainly working because I really want to get my hands on one! I've been using an array of Rimmel foundations for years now, but before that I used a couple of the L'Oreal ones, so I've no qualms with going back to ye old faithful foundation brand and trying their new product out! Available at boots for £14.99.

Another L'Oreal number that I've not seen talked about as much but is still as intriguing to me is their Infallible Sculpt Contour Palette. A couple of months ago I picked up the Collection highlight and sculpt palette but I just can't get along with it. The highlight shade is pretty dreamy but the contour shade is a little too orangey for me. Let's hope that this L'Oreal one does the trick! Available online now for £9.99.

Last but certainly not least is this little pot of absolute GOLD! This ladies and gentleman is the Dolls Kill In Your Dreams Gold Lilith chunky glitter gel. Oh, my, word! It's just beautiful! I'm one of those really annoying people that if you sent me that, "I despise you as a human being, you pr*ck" envelope full of glitter, I'd be pleased as punch! I think this glitter gel is perfect for glitter fanatics like myself and great for festival season! A little ott for some I'm sure, but hey, it's all fun right?! Available online now for just over £14.

What's on your beauty wishlist this month? Let me know what you're currently lusting over! Are any of my picks on your list? Let me know!
