CURRENT IN SHOWER FAVOURITES | CRUELTY FREE

Sunday, October 30, 2016
As I'm sure you're all aware by now, I'm vegan. Recently, I've been wanting to make sure that all the products I use are certified vegan and cruelty free. I've finally got my staple in shower products that I use on a regular basis that I really rate, so I thought I would share them with you all!
CURRENT IN SHOWER FAVOURITES | CRUELTY FREE | Love, Maisie

First let's talk shower gel. This is the my new favourite for a number of reasons. Firstly, the One Ginger Morning bath/shower gel from Treacle Moon smells absolutely incredible! It honestly does make me feel refreshed mentally too which is always a nice feeling on those cold, early mornings! That and it's also bright green, random but it's the one colour in their range that stood out to me most. All of the Treacle Moon products are vegetarian friendly and not tested on animals and some(including One Ginger Morning) are vegan friendly too!

BUMP UPDATE | WEEKS 25 + 26

Friday, October 28, 2016
Eeep, 12 weeks ago today, I posted my blog post that announced that Jack and I were expecting a little baby Corbett and now as I write this, I'm 27 weeks pregnant and I can still hardly believe it!

Week 25 saw myself and bump pop off for another midwife appointment. When I checked myself in, the receptionist informed me that if I wanted to, I could see my GP to have the flu vaccine and the whooping cough jab. I thought, well there's no time like the present is there! As a child/teenager, I was pretty terrified of needles/injections but as I've grown older and had 2,365 needles stabbed into me, I'm pretty comfortable with them now(unless someone is coming at me to taking my blood, queue panic attack). I had one jab in each arm and honestly, they were fine! A couple of hours later, one of my arms began to ache that horrible dull ache you sometimes get with jabs. Sadly, it lasted for about 48 hours but hey ho, it wasn't the end of the world!

CURRENT PALETTE WISHLIST | OCTOBER

Thursday, October 27, 2016
Current palette Wishlist | October | Love, Maisie | Featuring UD, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Make Up Revolution and Kat Von D
At the moment, I have my eyes on a lot of beautiful palette's. There just seems to be so many great ones around at the moment! I recently invested in the Sleek Solstice highlighting palette and boy am I glad I did, it's a real beauty! But, that doesn't mean that my palette habit's have been fully satisfied, na-uh.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 22nd

Wednesday, October 26, 2016
I hate to have to start a post like this and I hope I never have to again, but unless you've been hiding under a rock, I'm sure you'll  have seen a lot of drama over on twitter surrounding "The Bloggers Hub." Shaming someone for their appearance is not something that I believe is okay to do in any way shape or form, regardless of who they are or who you are. With that being said, I have decided to still post this blog post but to change the focus to the lovely girls that I met.

Last Saturday, I hoped on the train to Waterloo and landed myself and bump in London to attend the #TBHxBWB event in Soho, hosted by The Bloggers Hub and Bloggers Who Brunch. The meet up was held in the cutest little apartment on Poland Street, just off of Oxford Street. The event was catered with some delicious looking cupcakes and lots of fizz! Of course, I stuck to the non-alcoholic bevvy's for the afternoon!
My first bloggers event | Love, Maisie blog
Of course, being so close to Oxford Street, I did have to pop into Topshop to have a mooch at their maternity section and I must say, it was pretty impressive! I managed to find two tops in the sale that are really me tops, which makes a nice change from the plain maternity wear that I'm used to!

"I think you should just go for it"
You might have noticed a slight increase in posts this month, and that ladies and gentlemen, is because I am simply "going for it." I am well and truly throwing myself into my blog and all of it's surrounding projects.

SUNDAY STYLE BOARD | #46

Sunday, October 23, 2016
Sunday Style Board | #46 | Ft. Olivia Burton, Converse, TOPSHOP and more!
So here I am, preparing another style board to share with ya'll and I can't help but notice how bright this weeks is in comparison to the usual! I'm sure by now you're sick of hearing that I'm struggling with my body image whilst being pregnant, but one of the things keeping me going is that I am excited to get my body and my style back after the baby arrives! Of course, I'm most excited about the baby arriving full stop, but a girl can still have style after she births her child! So this week's style board is slightly more spring inspired but still pretty cosy.

SLEEK SOLSTICE HIGHLIGHTING PALETTE

Sleek MakeUP Solstice Highlighting Palette | Love, Maisie
I'm sure you'll have seen lots of bloggers raving about this undoubtedly gorgeous highlighting palette over the last couple of months. So of course, I had to see what the hype was all about! From the luxury packaging to the shimmering highlight shades, I tell ya, I was not a disappointed lady!

OCTOBER WARDROBE WISHLIST | MATERNITY EDIT

Thursday, October 20, 2016

I actually can't believe that we're well over half way through October already, where is this beautiful month going? After having my eye on a few exceptionally awesome pieces, I decided to put together a little wardrobe wishlist for the blog! Of course, being that I am as they say, with child, there are some maternity bits thrown in, but not all of these items are limited to those of us that are currently carrying a miniature human!

PRIMARK LIP LINERS | REVIEW + SWATCHES

Tuesday, October 18, 2016
A couple of months ago, I was browsing the beauty section at Primark, desperately trying to find my beloved gel eyeliner(which is often super hard to find! It must be way more popular that I thought!), I stumbled across Primark's range of lip liner pencil's. Intrigued, I picked one in up in the shade "Dark Pink." Little did I know that this would be the start of a beautiful love affair!

So as you can see, my one initial purchase turned into a couple more purchases and I'm now the proud owner of eight Primark lip liners, holy cow! I only really got into lip liners about a year ago and I must say, they can be a game changer! I've found that I like to wear lip liners both under a lipstick and on their own!

Make Your Dreams Happen | Quote of the Week | #76 | Love, Maisie
"Make your dreams happen" *img source
Over the last three and a half years, I've spoken a lot about dreams, see here, here and here for just a few examples. I've always been a dreamer, from fantasy make believe worlds and scenarios in my head to career and family goals. I do not think that being a dreamer is a bad thing.

AN EBAY MAKE UP BRUSH FIND

Saturday, October 15, 2016
A couple of weeks ago, I was reading Ami's blog over at Perks Of Being Ami where she shared a post about some Zoeva dupe brushes that she snapped up on Ebay! Being a Zoeva fan myself, I had to see what exactly it was she was going to say!

After reading Ami's blog post, I decided to purchase both sets of brushes she had talked about, because a) they were ridiculously cheap for the sound of their quality and b) why not!
ebay make up brushes | Zoeva rose gold set dupe | Love, Maisie
The first set to arrive was this gold and (I'd say) peachy/orange 8 piece brush set, which is inclusive of 3 face brushes and 5 eye brushes. They're all made with synthetic bristles so they are 100% vegan too, woohoo! None of these brushes are actually labelled on what their main purpose is so I've just been using them for what I think they're made for and what works for me! (And, I also had a look on the Zoeva site and these brushes are replicated almost exactly to how the Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set Vol 2 brushes are designed!)

BUMP UPDATE | WEEKS 23 + 24

Friday, October 14, 2016
If you missed my last bump update, you can catch it right here. The weeks seem to be going by so so slowly, but when I see the week numbers written down, I can't quite believe it! Pregnancy is still proving to be a bit of a challenge for me, but I'm getting through it and I'm already more than excited to meet our baby boy! Here's hoping that the next 15 weeks go by super swiftly!
Week 23 saw the return of the oedema. Oh my word, swollen feet, ankles and legs are not my favourite thing ever. In fact, I might even go as far to say that it's my worst symptom yet! Yup, you read right, worse than acid reflux! My oedema has actually made me feel really down on a number of occasions. It's just not a great feeling knowing that you have to sit with your legs/feet raised at every opportunity you get, just so you can *attempt* to get a pair of shoes back on later. I'm sure to some the idea of sitting down for hours on end sounds grand, but the reality of it is not as glamourous as one might think.

BABY BOY CLOTHES WISHLIST | H&M

Thursday, October 13, 2016
H&M will always be a firm favourite high street store for me and as of late, when I've been in there, I've been eyeing up their baby bits, because omg, such cute! H&M have a really wide range of baby boy, girl and gender neutral options, so I thought it only right to put together a little wishlist! I have actually already picked up a couple of bits and bobs in store, which you would have seen in my latest YouTube video if I could get my footage on to my laptop, grrrr technology.
Baby boy clothes | Wishlist | H&M | Love, Maisie

Pile all-in-one suit - £14.99 | Okay sweatshirt all-in-one suit - £12.99 | Ghosties printed pyjamas - £5.99 | Goofy printed pyjamas | 2-Pack Pooh Bear pyjamas - £12.99 | 2-Pack All-in-one blue and grey pjyamas - £9.99 | 2-pack long sleeve bodysuit in yellow and grey - £6.99 | 2-pack wrapover bodysuits moons and constellations - £7.99 | Green bear 3-piece jersey set - £6.99 | Light grey 3-piece jersey set - £6.99 |  Khaki green marl jacket - £29.99 |  Baseball Jacket - £9.99 | Corduroy Shirt - £9.99 |  Mint Green Sweatshirt - £5.99 | 2-Pack triangular scarves £3.99 | Mickey jersey tube scarf - £5.99
All-in-one's or baby grows or rompers or whatever you want to call them are a, an essential and b, absolutely adorable! My personal favourite at the moment are these first two all-in-ones. The pile all-in-one is basically going to turn baby Corbett into a little fluffy teddy bear, how adorable? I've actually felt this in store and it's super duper soft. The Okay sweatshirt style all-in-one is just so sweet too! I love the little bits of detail, like the brown pleather zip and the mustard writing, it's the simple little touches hey.

The next four items are all labeled as pyjamas. What's more awesome the pyjamas? Baby Pj's of course! My favourite of the four is probably the little Winnie the Pooh set! I've got a bit of a thing for Winnie, I'm not sure why, but I think that the prints are especially cute for little baby boys.

Like I mentioned, I've already picked up a couple of bits from H&M and I really rate the quality of the fabric that they use. It's all gentle to the touch and so I think I'll be a fan of picking up their basics like these bodysuits. I particularly like this 2-pack of wrapover bodysuits with the moon and constellations on it, super cute hey? This pack in particular is £7.99, so not the cheapest around but for a nice print it's certainly not the priciest!

Another thing that I really love the idea of for our little buba, is little outfits with matching hats. Don't ask me why, they're just too adorable.. isn't everything that's miniature human sized just adorable? Firstly, this Green Bear 3-piece set is just too cute with it's little patterned leggings, my goodness me! The light grey bird set is also just as sweet, eep! Both sets are £6.99 so I'll probably just order both if i'm being honest. I think I have an addiction to buying baby clothes, not even sorry.

I've found it really hard to look for coats for buba, mainly because I find them so big and bulky, which I guess they kind of have to be to keep the poor little thing warm, but I just feel as though they'll be uncomfortable? So hey, if you have any tips for buying baby coats, let me know! Thankfully, we have already been gifted two cute lil coats, one that I think was 0-3 months and the other 3-6 months. I found these two and fell in love with both of them! First up is this khaki green marl jacket which looks like a little old man coat doesn't it? A little pricey for a teeny tiny jacket at £29.99? Still cute though!

Okay so the baseball jacket probably isn't very practical or very warm but again.. it's hella cute! It's only £9.99 so hey if you fancy it for your little munchkin then you can grab it right here.

Is a corduroy shirt a bit too much for a baby? Maybe, but it's adorable right! Pair it with this mint green sweatshirt and bam, total little #ootd number! I love that this mint green sweatshirt is a) mint green, but most importantly b) has neck poppers! For £5.99, if I buy a big enough size, I'm sure it'll be a little baby staple that will last us a good while!

Last but not least are these little scarves! I adore scarves/bibs for baby boys as I think it makes them look like little old men with neckerchiefs! Have I lost my mind? Probably. There's this little blue 2-pack that I'm almost certain they have multiple patterns and colours of, but best of all, check out this Mickey mouse one! Again, if you had been able to see my latest YouTube video, you'd know that I already picked up a mickey mouse set from H&M(which I can't find on their website anymore, wah, sorry!)

So there we have it, my little H&M baby boy wishlist! Have you had a peep at H&M for your little one lately? They also have a wide range of gender neutral and baby girl options too! Let me know which piece is your favourite!

Quote of the week | #75 | Love, Maisie
"Focus on the good" *img source
Oh dear, it's not Monday it's Wednesday. Hey ho, better late than never right? If you saw last week's quote of the week, you'll know that things have been a little rocky lately, but I was trying to look on the bright side.

This week, I'm back again, still trying to look on the bright side and maybe, just maybe succeeding a little! I really, really don't want to jinx anything but last week I went to see a flat(with my wonderful mumma because Jack was working) and I fell a little bit in love with it. The current tenant was such a cutiepie too my goodness I'd be happy if she came with the flat! But anyway, we put our offer in and started the referencing process and so far, so good! Like I say, I didn't want to jinx anything but I do like to document my little life on my little blog so I thought I'd put this little moment into writing.

So right now, I'm looking at this new flat process as a positive thing, "the good" that's happening right now and trying to focus on just that. Really though, there are plenty of things happening right now that are "the good" in my life. Those are mainly my little baby in my tummy, my wonderful Jack and my ever supporting family. Focusing on the good is exactly what I'm trying to do every single day to help me through the bad days ♡

Now, could I please ask that you all keep your fingers and toes crossed that everything goes through with this new place because if I don't start getting our little home ready for baby soon I might lose my mind! Have a great day everyone!

MY FAVOURITE AUTUMNAL LIPSTICKS

Wednesday, October 05, 2016
I think I've probably said it 10 times already this week, but I friggin' love autumn! Blogger cliche I know, but I just adore the colours in my wardrobe, the colours in nature and of course, the colours on my lips! Being able to comfortably rock a darker lip again is just bliss. With that being said, I thought I'd put together a little round of my favourite autumnal lipsticks!
Let's start off with the bargain lippy shall we? This first lip product is in fact a velvet matte lip crayon from Primark's PS... Beauty range! The shade is called wine, which is appropriate seeing as it's a beautifully rich wine red colour. I find this lip crayon super easy to apply and soft on the lips. After a couple of hours, it does feel a little drying but the colour does last for a good couple hours before it begins to fade! I do find that it does bleed a little but nothing you can't sort out with 60 seconds and a cotton bud. You can pick this up from Primark for just £2!

Rimmel's Kate Moss Lasting Finish lipstick in 107 is a bloggers holy grail drugstore lipstick. Maybe this is down to Miss. Zoella herself claiming it as her all time favourite drugstore lippy, but personally, since I first swatched this on my hand in Boots three years ago, it's been a firm autumn staple since! Another wine red that I think would suit anyone! I find the staying power of this lipstick pretty long and it's easy to reapply over your lips once it's faded. You can pick this up in Boots and Superdrug now for £5.49.

Possibly my favourite lipstick ever is the Elizabeth Arden moisturing lipstick in Ultra Violet. If you've yet to try this baby out, get to it! A much more pureply/plumy shade in comparison to the other two shades, I find this lipstick a lot more adventurous, check me out. Probably the best staying power of the three and it doesn't dry my lips out at all! Available in boots now for £21.
My favourite autumnal/fall lipsticks | Makeup Revolution | Love, Maisie
From left to right | Make Up Revolution Lipstick in shade Rebel With Cause | Make Up Revolution Salvation Lip Lacquer
These next two products are from a firm favourite brand of mine, Makeup Revolution! If you haven't yet heard of them, where have you been? Did I mention, they're 100% cruelty-free? Another couple rich plum shades to add to my growing collection! The first of the two is a lipstick that I actually won in a giveaway around this time last year and I've loved it ever since. Super smooth and easy to apply, another lippy that I don't find drying at all! I can't personally compare, but it's said to be a slightly lighter dupe of MAC's Rebel, but the best part of it all is that it's only £1!

Dare to go darker? This next lip product is a super deep purple matte lip lacquer that I picked up in a Makeup Revolution Salvation Lip set last Christmas! It didn't come with a shade name or number but from trawling the Superdrug website for what seems like forever, the closest single tube shade you can purchase is their lip lacquer in Vamp! I find this one has super duper lasting power, probably linked to the fact that it's a matte lacquer, but I do find that it can be quite drying. This is probably one of the darkest shades that I own that I like to wear regularly! What do you think of this one?
Another brand that are a fave of mine, especially for lip products, are Collection! In particular, their Gothic Glam range, which I believe is no longer available in store but I did find some amazon links(above) if you still wanna grab a hold of them! The first shade is Seduction which first made it's appearance on the blog back in the summer of 2014! Safe to say that this is a firm fave of mine! It's fairly similar in colour to Primark's Wine shade but this lipstick is much more creamy in consistency, me gusta. All of the Collection lipsticks have amazing staying power and are all super duper pigmented on the lips!

Revenge is a slightly darker berry shade from the Gothic Glam collection. I've often transitioned from Seduction in the daytime to Revenge for the evening! Again, a lovely consistency and flawless staying power!

I actually wrote up a full review on Collection's Aubergine Kiss back in October 2015, which you can find right here. I'd put Aubergine Kiss in between Seduction and Revenge for "deepness"(is this a word, oops?) of shade. I find deep berry shades really complimentary to my pale skin and light eyes, although I think a great berry tone can rock up anyone's look! You can grab Aubergine Kiss and plenty of other lush shades from Collection's Lasting Colour selection at Boots right now for just £2.99 each!

So there we have it, my favourite autumnal lipsticks! Do you love any of these shades too? Which is your favourite autumn lippy? Let me now below!

Because when you stop and look around life is pretty amazing | Quote of the week | #74 | Love, Maisie
"Because when you stop and look around life is pretty amazing" - Dr Seuss *img source

Happy Monday everyone! I can't believe it's October already, how did this happen!? Yesterday started off as an awful day but turned out to be a lovely one. Let me explain.

So yesterday morning started off just like most Sundays. Jack and I had a lay in and eventually got up and rolled into the kitchen where Jack, ever so kindly, made us coffee and breakfast. We had beans and mushrooms on bagels, of course, Jack also had avo. It was super duper tasty, I highly recommend it.

Then bam, all of a sudden, pesky hormones and negative thoughts came flooding over me like a tidal wave and I was suddenly sat there, stirring my second coffee of the morning, decaf of course, and I knew that the morning wasn't going to shape up well. If you've been reading some of my pregnancy related blog posts, you'll know that I'm struggling a little lot with body image, you can read a bit more here. So queue a blubbering, miserable Maisie.

As always, it was Jack to the rescue, medicating my sads with cuddles and kindness and after I cried all of the water out of my body, I managed to look on the bright side, get up, get ready and head out for the day. Our first stop was Tesco in Camberley, aka, the greatest place on earth. After we bagged a bargain of a weekly shop (under £40, say what), we headed to London for a mini family gathering with some of Jack's relatives that were over visiting from Ireland.

We spent the afternoon snacking on vegetable flavoured crisps with hummus and walking through Richmond and grabbing coffee from Whole Foods. A pretty sweet afternoon if you ask me!

So now that I've rambled on about my Sunday, I'll get to my point. My point is, that even though I'm not having the easiest of times mentally at the moment, life is pretty sweet. I've got a relationship so beautiful that I never could have dreamed it up, I've an amazing family around me that always love and support everything that I do and I'm cooking a mini human in my tummy! How magical is that? Things might not be 100% in my little brainbox at the moment, but when I stop and look around, life is pretty damn amazing.
