VEGAN CHOCOLATE + BAOBAB SUPER SMOOTHIE | NAUGHTY BUT NICE

Friday, November 25, 2016
Since being pregnant, smoothie's have been a really big part of my everyday diet. Mainly because it means that I can get loads of fruits, veggies and nutrients into my body in a super easy and tasty way and they're ridiculously easy to make! But sometimes, it's nice to make a smoothie that's a little bit naughty. None the less, this naughty but nice smoothie is exactly that, naught and nice!
VEGAN CHOCOLATE + BAOBAB SUPER SMOOTHIE | NAUGHTY BUT NICE | Love, Maisie
When the lovely people over at Pandavita got in touch to see if I wanted to try out their organic baobab powder, I couldn't possibly turn it down! So of course, I decided to create a new smoothie recipe for you all!

Ingredients:
250ml of soya milk/any milk alternative of your choice
1 x frozen banana
1 x tsp white chia seeds
1 x tbsp cacao nibs (saving some for decorating!)
1 x tbsp of PandaVita's organic baobab powder*
3 x tsps of vegan chocolate powder of your choice

Simply add all of your ingredients in to a blender (I'd suggest adding the banana and the milk first before any of the powder products to avoid them getting stuck at the bottom!) and whizz up this delicious energy filled smoothie! Once blended(I used a nutri bullet and blended for about 20-25 seconds) pour into a glass of choice and sprinkle the remaining cacao nibs on the top. I also added a blackberry for "dramatic effect" haha! So what are the benefits?

Pandavita's Organic Baobab Powder
This fruity baobab powder is a superfood that's high in vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, calcium, antioxidants and fibre! Just 10grams contains almost 5grams of fibre. It's also a natural source of energy, so ditch the caffeine and opt for a tablespoon of this raw, vegan, gluten free, non-gmo superfood powder in the mornings! You can also add this organic baobab powder to your yogurt or porridge in the mornings or even into a glass of water!

Chia Seeds
Did you know that chia is the highest combined plant source of omega-3, fibre and protein? Making it amazing for everyone! I've used white chia seeds for this recipe, but white and black chia seeds have no nutritional difference, so feel free to use either!

Organic Cacao Nibs
Jack recently introduced me to cacao nibs and holy cow! So what are they I hear you say? Well, cacao is the purest form of chocolate. On their own, these little nibs are pretty bitter tasting, but added into a smoothie they add a really deep chocolatey taste! It gets better because cacao is packed with vitamins! Vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B9 and E to be precise.

Not bad for some morning chocolatey goodness right? Not only does this smoothie have some amazing nutrients, but it tastes amazing too! I'm already craving another one so I might just have to get back into the kitchen and make myself another vegan chocolate and baobab smoothie! Will you be trying this out? Let me know if you do!
