Car safety at Christmas | Love, Maisie | www.lovemaisie.com

Many of us, including myself, have family members up and down the country whom we will be visiting in the coming weeks. We live in Gloucestershire but will be spending Christmas day itself back in Berkshire, before returning back to Gloucestershire on boxing day, so we've got a fair few miles to drive!
All year round we spend a lot of time on the road and although I don't drive myself(Jack is my very own personal chauffeur) I'm always sure to help with making sure that our car is as safe as it can be for the roads, especially with our precious cargo on board! So with all that in mind, today I wanted to share with you my top tips for car safety this Christmas!

Tyre Checkup
This is probably the thing that first comes to mind when thinking about car safety, your tyres. Ensuring that your tyres are not too worn is something you should be checking on frequently. But, should you notice that your tyres are starting to look a little worn out, the Christmas period is a great time to get some new ones, especially if you'll be racking up the miles! Branded cheap tyres are available at Point S with easy ordering online.

Making sure to regularly check the pressure on your tyres is another essential! Not only will this make sure your car is driving at it's best on the roads and ensure your safety, but it will make sure that you get the most out of your tyres.

Replacing your spare tyre. It is vital that should you need to use your spare tyre, that you replace it ASAP as you really don't want to get caught out with a flat and not have a replacement for it, especially, God forbid, on Christmas Eve!

Other top tips
Double Check Your Car Seat
Depending on the age of your little one, you may have a car seat that is permanently in your car rather than the carry seat you will have had when they were first born. Although having your car seat already fixed into the car is convenient, it's also important to check that it is still correctly installed every time you're using it. Whether that's an isofix base or secured with the seat belt, it's a good idea just to double check everything is still as it should be.

Anti Freeze
If you live in the UK you'll know that it has been pretty chilly recently with temperatures falling below zero, so it's important to remember to top up your coolant(the stuff that stops your engine from over heating) with antifreeze to prevent the coolant from freezing.

So wherever you're driving to this Christmas, I hope you have a wonderful time and a safe journey!
